Embark on a full-day journey through the heart of Dobrogea, a land where sacred legends, ancient history, and wine traditions blend harmoniously under the gentle southern sun. Your first stop brings you to an oasis of peace and reflection in the forest surrounding St. Andrew's Monastery. Step inside the famous rock-hewn cave, considered the oldest Christian church in Romania, where tradition dictates that Saint Andrew took shelter and preached in ancient Scythia Minor. The serene atmosphere of the monastic settlement and its beautiful architecture provide a deeply moving start to the day.
The route continues on the footsteps of Roman emperors to Adamclisi, one of the country's most impressive ancient sites. For an hour and a half, you will discover the imposing triumphal monument Tropaeum Traiani, built in 109 AD by Emperor Trajan to commemorate his victories in the Dacian-Roman wars. Alongside your guide, explore the ruins of the ancient Roman fortress and the archaeological museum housing the original stone-carved metopes—stunning visual chronicles of antiquity that faithfully depict the lives, weapons, and bravery of our ancestors.
Following this dive into history, the afternoon is dedicated to culinary indulgence and relaxation at Viișoara Winery. Nestled in a picturesque natural setting and surrounded by hundreds of hectares of sun-kissed vineyards, the winery opens its doors to reveal the secrets of modern winemaking. Savor a selection of expressive, aromatic wines perfectly paired with carefully chosen snacks. Enjoy the sweeping views of the green rolling hills and listen to local stories before embarking on a peaceful return trip to your hotel.
