The cruise was very nice, thanks in part to the good weather; an interesting ride off Bergen that allows you to appreciate its extension into the fjord of the same name. Only note on the reservation: while the instructions describing the rendezvous point were correct, the photo shows the opposite side of the dock.

Took my mum and little brother on this Bergen cruise and honestly, it was such a chill way to see the city! The guide pointed out all these little hidden spots—like this super old house right on the water I’d NEVER have noticed. Bit windy on top deck but totally worth it, just bring a jacket. Coffee on board was meh but who cares when ur looking at THAT view. Would 100% do again.

Arrived late so had to sit inside, but the windows are big so still got to see loads. The commentary was clear and not too much info. My wife loved the fish market stop after—it's right there. Felt a bit short, but packed a lot in. Weather was decent, which helped.
    • Set sail on the Eric the Red for a 1-hour cruise showcasing Bergen’s key waterfront landmarks from the Byfjorden.

    • See medieval sites like Bergenhus Fortress and the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf from the water.

    • Pass notable locations, including the Sandviken boathouse, Verftet Georgernes Shipyard, once one of Norway’s largest sardine factories, and Northern Europe’s largest aquarium.

    • Fun fact: Look out for the Rosenkrantz Tower. The cannons mounted on the roof were only fired once, in 1665, during the Battle of Vågen.

Great short cruise around the harbour. Lots of information given by the guide in English. Well recommended if you are short of time.

Went solo—never felt awkward. The staff were super friendly, had a little chat about Norwegian snacks (get the cinnamon bun at the kiosk if you can). Boat was spotless and the fjord looked unreal even though it drizzled half the time. Surprisingly relaxing.
