CoupleVerified booking3 days ago4/5The tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I found it interesting to learn that the period in which a theater or opera house is built (naturally) has the greatest influence on the design of the auditorium (acoustics and size) as well as the lobbies and such. What we found disappointing was that, in our opinion, the tour guide lingered too long on certain topics (such as the faux-marble decor of the most elegant foyer for the king), while we would have liked much more information about the theater auditorium, the stage (which we didn’t get to see), and the world behind the scenes. That’s actually what we came for, but there was no time or opportunity for it. It all had to be rushed through. It’s a shame, because the tour guide did have a genuine enthusiasm that he could have better directed toward the parts that could have really focused on the theater, operas, composers, and orchestras.DDaniel K
FamilyVerified booking6 days ago5/5Everything was interesting and informative—the most impressive thing was that so much of it was made of plaster, and you’d think it was wood!!! Unbelievable!!! What incredible craftsmanship back then... we would have loved to take a peek behind the scenes... but other than that, it was absolutely amazingMMaria M
CoupleVerified booking5 days ago4/5It was interesting to note that much of the interior decoration consisted of stucco painting rather than the original materials. However, I had expected a tour of the opera house to include a visit to the stage machinery and a look behind the scenes. That wasn’t the case, which was disappointing.AAlexandra N
CoupleVerified bookingLast week5/5The tour was great! Unfortunately, it was too short, and we didn't get to see as much as we'd hoped. But our guide wasn't just funny and charming—he also had plenty of patience to answer all my questions. An extra 3 euros to take pictures? Yes! And I'd be happy to pay it. It's worth it.AAxel L
FamilyVerified booking3 weeks ago4/5A very nice, engaging, and entertaining tour. Worth 5 stars. However, there should be 1–2 minutes set aside for taking photos from in front of the stage to the impressive auditorium. Some visitors weren't able to take any photos due to time constraints. That's why I'm giving it only 4 stars.
