It was a wonderful experience there—I was thrilled. I’ve never experienced such a great atmosphere as I did in Eskişehir. You should definitely visit Keskin, too—it was truly beautiful, just amazing. We’ll definitely do this again as soon as we get the chance.

What a great cruise down the Elba. Our group enjoyed learning about the sites along the river. This made seeing the sights easy. We liked seeing the engine and the inner workings of the ship as well. Also was nice to have a refreshment along the way and the cover kept us dry.

It was a fun experience with a good explanation of the beautiful buildings and their history. You could also enjoy a bite to eat or a drink on board. You could see the engine running through glass, which was very interesting.

The tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I found it interesting to learn that the period in which a theater or opera house is built (naturally) has the greatest influence on the design of the auditorium (acoustics and size) as well as the lobbies and such. What we found disappointing was that, in our opinion, the tour guide lingered too long on certain topics (such as the faux-marble decor of the most elegant foyer for the king), while we would have liked much more information about the theater auditorium, the stage (which we didn’t get to see), and the world behind the scenes. That’s actually what we came for, but there was no time or opportunity for it. It all had to be rushed through. It’s a shame, because the tour guide did have a genuine enthusiasm that he could have better directed toward the parts that could have really focused on the theater, operas, composers, and orchestras.

Everything was interesting and informative—the most impressive thing was that so much of it was made of plaster, and you’d think it was wood!!! Unbelievable!!! What incredible craftsmanship back then... we would have loved to take a peek behind the scenes... but other than that, it was absolutely amazing
