The guide was excellent! There is nothing to complain about the tour itself. However, "skip the line" tickets are advertised online, which unfortunately was not the case on site. The tour is definitely worth it. But if you also want skip the line, it's best to try another provider.

Because our group was so small, she took the time to answer all of our questions and explain every detail with such care. We also feel incredibly fortunate that we were able to go through the Holy Door during this tour. It was a very special moment for our family. It was a very good tour of an excellent place with a great guide, Volo. Unfortunately, the meeting point was another than the place, I had received notice about. As a result, having waited for 20 minutes, we arrived four minutes before the tour started causing us quite a lot of stress that could have been avoided had we received the correct information regarding the meeting point.

Our guide Anna was very accommodating. My parents were running late as there is just so much walking in Rome, they were a bit tired. Anyway they made it and the tour began. Anna was very knowledgeable about St Peter’s Basilica born from a genuine passion she has for the place. The tour was therefore very informative and highlighted loads of different aspects that only a guided tour could. She delivered just enough information to keep your interest whilst trying to show as much as possible during the tour. It was a perfect balance. St Peter’s Basilica was just incredible and it would be somewhere I would revisit when I return. Thank you Anna for making it one of the best tours, David enjoyed the humour as well.

Our guide Valeri, was fantastic. Dressed smartly, and carried himself wih the grace and charm of the refined French gentleman that he is. And so knowledgeable of not only the art in the basilica, but last the symbolism behind each piece. I've been to St Peter's twice before, but only toured on my own. The guided tour with Valeri took the experience to another level altogether.

It was a busy day, so we had to wait a little bit for the pilgrims to go, but once we got inside, we went directly to the tombs. There were many pretty tombstones. Then we went up to see the rest of the Basilica, and we discussed many of the statues and art. There were too many to get to them all, but it was nice to see and get some background on them.

Very crowded - tour took much longer than advertised (2.5 hours+). Guide was informative, but there seemed to be conflicts with staff at the Basilica as we had to wait and re-route our tour several times. Group size was too large and guide had to "manage" a big group in very large crowds.

Our guide was very courteous, super friendly and involved every participant very well. Unfortunately, our tour was postponed from 11am to 1pm on the same day due to an internal event at the Vatican. We were not made aware of the increased number of visitors during the postponement. All staff were very friendly. They had to contact us before due to the Vatican closing for a special service. They rearranged this well. The express tour gave us all the information we needed. We were stuck for almost 1 hour and just standing on the line because the St. Peter's Basilica security service or management blocked the way and they forgot to let us in so we shouted at them for letting us not inside while the other side of the visitors continue to go inside. The guide on our tour was WONDERFUL and this review has nothing to do with him. Our tour was supposed to include breakfast (I spoke to an agent on support who confirmed this) There was no mention made of this when we got there, tour was at 8:00 and was moved to 8:15. We got there super early, there was no one to even talk too before the ticketing booth was open and at that point we were hearded out like cattle and the tour started at least 30 minutes late. Naturally we were hungry assuming they'd stop at some point, but no. Never happened. We asked the tour guide about it but unfortunately he knew nothing of it. It wasn't his fault at all and I don't blame him I blame the company. It was supposed to be an hour tour that turned into 2 1/2 hours. Tour was great but we were definitely hungry the whole time. I don't think breakfast should be advertised with the tour if you're not going to offer it. I also believe the length of the tour should be as advertised and that the tour should not start late if you're going to be so adamant in your emails that the tourist not be late.

It was confusing as to where we were supposed to meet our guide. We followed the instructions but a security guard would not let us go to where we were supposed to go. That uniformed person sent us back out to where they were some concessions and large red umbrella. Someone from your company did come and find us. We had to rush about to catch up with the tour. Also the sign that the guide held was not the same name as what we expected (Head Out.) Even if we were able to get to where we were supposed to meet, we would not have recognised our guide.

When we got there the venue was temporarily closed due to the amunt of visitors, this meant that once we got inside I just felt like the tour was very rushed, so that the tour guides could get onto the next group and catch up. Tour guide needs to focus on getting people inside, taking them to various biblical status, and areas, for pictures. This is not a history class, we only had 1-2hrs , but our tour guide spent 40 mins telling us stories and history outside and on the door way, While I applaud her of her knowledge, however this is not a history class, 6 of us had other tours scheduled right afterwards, so we left the tour midway to explore the Basilica on our own, including the Tomb areas underneath.

The experience was good in general, but it took much longer than expected and since we had tickets for the Vatican Museums by appointment, we didn't have a smooth experience. We wanted to go through the Holy Doors and due to a disorganization in the visit, we were unable to appreciate this moment during the guided tour. We did go through it later, but we felt that it somewhat disappointed our expectations. I had high hopes for the tour - it was my first time in Rome and experiencing the Vatican. We had been warned in advance about the long queue to get into St. Peters, and while waiting for an hour in direct sunlight in a tightly packed queue of people wasn't fun, it was to be expected. I was more disappointed with our guide. She didn't stay with the group and often raced ahead of us - during the queue portion and during the actual tour inside the venue. We weren't warned, but as the French group wasn't large enough, we were switched to the English group. The problem was that we didn't speak English, so we only spent 10 minutes of the two-hour tour we'd originally planned. So we paid for nothing, as we did the tour ourselves.

We were told to arrive 15mins beforehand, we did exactly that. Our guide decided to meet 45mins beforehand. My phone does not work outside of wifi, so I could not be contacted. When I eventually found the guide, she was rude, dismissive and treated me very poorly. She blamed me for being late when we arrived on time as instructed. She then refused to allow us to go on the next tour. I have never been treated so poorly before. This was a special trip and to see the business ethics on display in such a holy place was disgusting. You did not give us our tour because you changed the time at the last minute. That is not fair and as far as I am concerned, you stole our money based on your behaviour.

Please stop misleading people. There was no 'skip the lines' even though that's how you advertised it. The tour was supposed to start at 8:20am and was supposed to last an hour yet we spent nearly all of that lining up just to get inside through security. I had limited time as I needed to catch a flight home and in the end didn't even do the tour because I wanted to go through the holy door. I thought I would be skipping the line but that wasn't the case and we were lied to. It's misleading and completely nisold. If I wanted to line up I would not have even paid for a tour.

The crowd was too much and there was no separate queue for visitors with tickets. The guide was helpless and suggested that we would not be able to make it inside. Despite we arrived earlier then it was mentioned. The staff arrived after 20 minutes of the meeting time and started the event 10 minutes later. We were expecting to have skip the line entrance but No one informed us that it will take not less than 1,5 hours at least to get the entrance. So, considering our time limitations after 1 hour of waiting in the queue without even approaching to the entrance we left the place without attending Basilica. The worst experience with paying for nothing. Very disappointed. Will never use your services again.

We ran into unexpected traffic delays and even when giving adequate time to reach the meeting place the guide was unable to wait more than 3 minutes longer. The crowds were heavy on this day because the Basilica was closed the day before when we went. We then booked a skip the line ticket on site for 25€ each (another 75€) and after a couple hours going through this process we were almost into the Basilica and the Pope called mass. We had no chance to get in before our travel home early today.

The guide didn't show up to the tour at all. I tried calling the support number but couldn't reach anyone since the number on my booking was to a disconnected number. Another tour guide from another group called a number they had and spoke with the company who didn't have a tour guide assigned for my tour. The tour guide from the other company who was helping me make calls just let me join their tour, so I wasn't completely out. I did book relatively late- only the morning of the tour, but it shouldn't have been available if they weren't going to have someone there and the company (onceuponatour) should have had a correct phone number for me to contact.

I responded straight away that I would like a refund and heard nothing back. As I'd heard nothing back I tried my best to make it on time for the tour but did not meet them. She suggested I reach out to you guys for some sort of refund because we had to buy €45 worth of dome climb tickets. Disappointing experience: the official appointment was at 7.50 a.m. for an 8.20 a.m. visit to the basilica... in reality, groups couldn't get in before 9.30 a.m., so we had to wait a long time in St. Peter's square, then visit the cellars (as groups couldn't enter through the holy door). We found ourselves in the basilica at 10.30am, in a compact crowd, whereas between 7am and 9am there's hardly anyone in the basilica. We didn't get to see the Pieta (although those who enter through the holy door can see it individually). The guide recited his text at breakneck speed, using Italian, English and French words... it was difficult to understand and he didn't try to captivate his audience. We returned the next day to visit the basilica individually at 8am... and it was a thousand times better!

İn the email it was written that we should be there 30 minutes beforehand. However, the local partner only opened the doors at the booked time so we had to wait 40 minutes. With the many bookings there was also just confusion and no structure in the processing of the guests. The guys were poorly prepared and slow. 2 doors, 2 queues to then queue up again for the other queue, because one takes care of the participants with one language and the other takes care of the other languages. Should also be better communicated The tour was ok, lengthy but we were glad that we were able to enter the cathedral at all after the Pope's death. For my part, I will no longer book anything connected with this organizer.

The instructions on where to meet the guide were completely incorrect. We arrived at the designated meeting point at the stairs, as stated in the confirmation, but there was NO guide waiting for us. We searched, waited, and even asked around, but no one from the tour was there. We tried to reach out for help, but there was no proper assistance or clear direction on what to do. We paid €96 for this, only to be left stranded and frustrated. This was a complete waste of time and money. If you can’t even provide clear meeting instructions or have someone present at the location, why are you selling these tours? I demand a FULL REFUND immediately. We loved nothing because rhre was no tour. We showed up, you didn't. I wish I had read the reviews before booking. Apparently no shows by Headout are not unusual. On arrival I hour before,the tour, as instructed, following ten minutes to get through security the tour was nowhere to.be seen. No headout banner, no one in the indicated place and none of the staff or volunteers had ever heard of Headout. Inside the Basilica, which is free to get in anyway, none of the groups were lead by someone with a readout flag. We feel we have been scammed and if you do exist you should do the decent thing an fully refund us.

A heavenly experience with exceptional service Our visit to St. Peter's Basilica in Rome was an absolute highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, due to the challenges with public transportation and the hectic traffic in Rome, we arrived a little later than planned. We were worried we would miss the tour, but the team on site were incredibly friendly and understanding - they actually waited for us, which we really appreciated. St. Peter's Basilica itself is breathtaking. The sheer size and magnificence of the basilica are hard to put into words. From the ornate interior to the impressive mosaics and Bernini's famous canopy, it was an overwhelming experience. The tour was also excellent - the guide was very knowledgeable and gave us fascinating details about the history and architecture of St. Peter's Basilica. Thanks to the accommodating organization and the impressive experience, St. Peter's Basilica is a must for every visitor to Rome. With these tickets we were supposed to enter the Básilica and the chapel of the dads. It would last about 45 minutes. However at no point do they tell you that you have to wait in line to go through a security check. The entrance was at 11, and we started at 11:30. We waited half an hour for another group of people and the guide to arrive at the Vatican square. Once they arrived, the guide started to explain the statues and the square. This explanation lasted about 15 minutes. In the meantime more and more people kept entering the queue.... We were already 45 minutes late.... We all thought that we were going to advance the whole queue (since it was a group entrance) that had been forming from 11 to almost 12. Once the guide finishes with the initial explanation, he tells us that we have to go through the control and that we have to wait in line... A queue that lasted 2 hours and a half... We passed the control at 14:40. Obviously this annoyed us a lot. But what annoyed us the most was when we arrived at the door of the crypt of the Popes and the guide told us, WITH HIS FUCKING BAD ASS, that he had to get the entrance tickets... It seems to me VERY UNPROFESSIONAL on the part of a company that you hire a service and then they lie to you and laugh at the client in their own face.

Happy to discuss my experience with you... As they indicated in their recommendations, we arrived an hour before at the Basilica to make the necessary queue for the security control. We passed this one hour and forty minutes after the beginning of our presence in said queue, which went around the entire premises, and apparently had several problems with the police by people who were continuously sneaking in. We tried to warn of the delay caused by the excess capacity to the telephone number they have on their website, resulting in complete success. No one answered after 3 calls made. When we arrived at our meeting point there was no one from your organization so we tried to contact you again on 5 occasions and again no one answered. Given the lack of attention on your part, I would ask for the full refund of the € 166.80 paid for the 6 users who could not access your services. I wait for your answer before making the appropriate assessments on your website, as well as on the other social networks and other websites dedicated to these services, both in this service of visiting the Basilica, as well as the Colosseum -where we could not download the requested Self-Guide: 129,60 € subscribers- and the Panthenon -where the service was adequate: €42.66 season ticket holders-. Last Thursday 7th we had a reservation for a tour in St. Peter's Basilica and it was IMPOSSIBLE to find the guide. We arrived an hour early and called many times to the phone number indicated and no one answered the phone. Finally an hour and a half later, we decided to go in on our own, without a guide. That same day we sent an email requesting the money back and attached the screenshots with all the phone calls. To this day we have not heard back from them. We booked "skip the line tickets for St. Peter's Basilica" and nowhere were we told that we could not skip the line, nor that the entrance was free in all cases, nor that an hour and a quarter was not enough time to pass the access control. When we tried to contact on the phones, chats, and emails included in the app, there was no way to do it. We sent an email that they have not answered us yet. They did not tell us the Operator of the visit, and we called a phone that supposedly was the operator and although they did for changing us the visit time it was not enough to get us in. We have paid for nothing, and we have not been given a solution in any case. The information is totally null and void and does not explain what is the reality. What is the reality. The meeting place was inside the Basilica, so we could not do anything to avoid the queue. If tickets are sold without queues, it is understood WITHOUT QUEUES, and not that you have to do the same as the rest who have not paid for them, looking like a fool because there were not even tickets to pay. Anyway, I will not hire anything else with them for sure.

We didn't receive a tour at all! Had a ticket for guided tour of St Peter's Basilica. Requirement was to meet the guide in the portico of St Peter's. Arrived 1 hour before the experience as instructed. The line to enter St Peter's was 1.5 hours (timing of the queue is beyond our control). Result was no guide when we arrived. Paid £34 for no service. Pointless. Instructions are poor and not crystal clear in the info available before booking that joining the queue is necessary and then to meet the guide AFTER queuing. . Comments of previous guests are misleading as some of them indicate that the guide is with you whilst in the queue. Really disappointing to receive no service at all. Wasted my money. Of course no refunds. All seems stacked in the favour if Headout. I won't be using again.

Avoid this and Headout. Firstly, the tour started late. Then, we reached the venue and were told to get comfortable in the queue. I bought the tickets on a link from the Headout website on how to avoid queues. The experience was said to last 1 hour. The guide laughed and said "After 1 hour we'll still be in the queue. The queue could last 2 hours". He offered a refund. I went to the office and was told that the refund would be provided by Headout. They initially said a refund would be given on their live chat but subsequently refused to give a refund, claiming that there are warnings in the small print that the queue can take an hour (notably, not 2 hours). The website offering this tour as a way to "beat the queues" is misleading - do not fall for it.

You can not make the visit, because the meeting point is the entrance to the basilica. You can not access the meeting point without doing the normal queue of people who do not have entrda. I was 1 hour and something to make the queue, it says that you are before 40 minutes, as I was late, because it is impossible to enter before, they left without me. I tried to call to communicate my problem when there was still 30 minutes left to enter, to someone from the same queue, but no one picked up the phone, neither in Spain nor in Italy.

Our tour guide Maria with the German-speaking tour was great, she did a wonderful job and shortened the queue (75 min!). The intercom worked great and we were expected in the office, all good. Everything was flawless except that we had to queue for so long in front of the cathedral. You don't expect it and therefore can't plan further activities if you have such a long wait.

We spent 70mins waiting in the line and received a 20min tour. The waiting time was not stated to be included in the 90min tour duration in your booking information. I feel you are falsely advertising this service. I intend to share my experience online and with Google reviews so others are not taken advantage of in the same way by your company. I would never have paid so much money for a 20min tour had you been honest.

The tour started at 10:30 and we were at St. Peter's at 9:40, but the meeting point was inside the basilica and the queue lasted 90 minutes. I contacted customer service and was told that there would be another tour at 12.00. We waited but no one came, the assistant did not give us the name or phone number of the guide either. The basilica staff took care of all of us who had this happen to us as best they could and I am grateful to them. A disaster of coordination and I will not hire anything with you again. There are many others affected. Regards.

It was not made clear on the meeting instructions that we would have to line up with the 100s of others waiting in line to enter St Peter's Basilica, we thought as we had a tour booked we could line up somewhere else, it made the experience stressful as we didn't know if we would make the tour in time. We ended up having to run to the ticket booth to retrieve our tickets . We also wasted precious time as the google map co ordinates were taking us to a secured area with no access. The tour guide was very good though .

There was confusion as to where to meet the guide. The ticket said to meet at the front of the basilica but when we approached one of the line ushers they said everyone has to get in the line and entry to the basilica was free. So it seemed pointless to pay 93 euros (for two couples) and still have to been in a long line (at least over an hour). We ended up going later in the day around 16:30

It was a total disaster! The guide's directions were inaccurate and incorrect! They said that it would be enough to be 40/30 minutes early at the place indicated on the ticket map, which seemed to be outside the Basilica's entrance area, as would make sense, even in comparison with other companies providing the same services. To our astonishment, it turned out to be inside the Basilica and the queue was estimated to last 1.5 hours(!!?). If you didn't arrive 30/40 minutes in advance, you'd never be able to find the guide in the time scheduled...

This visit was supposed to be the big present for my husband for his 75th birthday. We were at the square about 1 1/2 hours beforehand, where there were already 1-2000 people standing in an uncertain queue, the end of which was impossible to find. There was no one to give us information (a friendly policeman tried, for nothing). We didn't know where to go or how to get to the meeting point. The men under the small tent at the front said we had to queue and then we would get in. The sun was getting hotter and hotter and in the end my husband refused to try to get into the cathedral any further. We are intelligent, educated people with common sense and perhaps too polite to push our way in. I was in tears. Please give better information (waiting in line? Fighting your way to the front (where?) past others? ) The money is thrown away. It would have been nice to start our vacation the way it was planned. Fortunately, the rest of our stay in Rome turned out to be positive. We probably won't see St. Peter's Cathedral again in our lifetime. What a pity.

Unfortunately, the 1-hour experience was not that at all and we weren't able to make it to the inside of the Basilica as the line was too long, even though it was the first tour of the morning and they had a delayed 15minute start. I clearly didn't read the fine print well enough - but be warned that their tour time doesn't include the time you will need to wait in queues & won't help you skip the line. I sent an email asking if we could reschedule to another tour and the response took over 24hrs and I was simply told that I couldn't - so it was wasted time & money.

Furthermore she has an astonishing grasp of Greek culture and history whether classical or early medieval through 15th century Byzantine. The visit was exceptional because it is a marvel of a basilica, it is a museum in itself. But we were also very lucky that our guide was Father Emmanuel, which is not usual, and he explained everything very well. The visit was very enjoyable and interesting and our guide was very charming. On the other hand, it was chaotic to get to the basilica. We thought that with the reservation of the guide it was not necessary to queue but everyone has to queue for the 2 hours at the security checkpoint, and this should be announced. On the other hand we asked the security people and they even told us that it was not possible that we had booked a tour with a guide since that service was not offered, that only audio guides were offered in the basilica. So much so that we were on the verge of not entering. On the other hand, it is indicated that you have to go to the guided tour desk and that does not exist as such. You have to go to the counter where they hand out the audio guides, and there was no identification of the guided tour company. In the end we made it through the security checkpoint line and were able to get to our guided tour and it was well worth it.

Unfortunately, we had to queue for about 80 minutes before we were admitted to St. Peter's Basilica. Given the price, the participants had expected to be admitted more quickly. Half of the half of the group left the tour before entering the cathedral, the tour guide ran (!) through the cathedral and the rest of the group (6 people) had to follow her. She seemed unmotivated and annoyed.

It should be noted that you have to arrive more than 40 mt in advance because you have to go through security checks. Inside the basilica we were kindly attended to and they contacted Omnia and informed us that the guide was not there. We made the visit alone.
