St. Peter’s Basilica, Square, and Papal Tombs Guided Tour

I loved the fact that I found easily the meeting point and got new info about Vatican city. However the headset did not work good enough unfortunately

Our guide Karen was great! Her tour was interesting, engaging and her personal insights into the art were just excellent. We really enjoyed our tour and Karen helped us to appreciate everything we saw.

The venue itself is second to non. However, timing was dreadful! Our tour was to begin 1pm. Told to meet 12.45. We were at meeting point in good time at 12.30. A member of staff joined us at 12.50. But our tour guide did not arrive until 1.20pm. Other groups joined the horrendously long queue for the vatican ahead of us whilst we just stood at the meeting point. because their guide was late. We eventually joined the queue at 1.30pm but there was no fast track as expected. Queueing for two hours in temperatures of 27° WAS HORRENDOUS! When we eventually got into the basillica, we were in there for just an hour. The poor guide did his best by constantly talking. He gave lots of interesting information, but also lots of rubbish / opinion, cynical comments about issues within the church. I paid for my husband and I for a quick queueing experience and for information. I wish I'd queued on our own as it would have saved at least an hour of hanging around in the heat. The audio guide would have given us the information we wanted without the cynical slant of numerous points. No not a well spent £60. Don't bother!

Our tour guide, Eduardo (spelling may be wrong) provided an informative experience. His knowledge was very impressive, delivered in a very friendly and entertaining way. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Thanks.

Great experience. Because of the long line we couldn't see the tombs of the popes so maybe it would be better to leave before 3:30 pm! The guide was great and it was super interesting! Recommended

The guide, good and prepared. At 3 p.m. they were closing the boxes for groups with "earphones" but the girl made it in time to get tickets for the whole group. Lots of people but positive experience and recommended.

The experience is not well organized It is not specified that anyway you stand in line as if you were alone so when you write that it lasts an hour and a half it is not true it depends on how long it takes you to get in, the guide had to leave us to go and pay for the ability to use the audio guides because they close on Sundays and you should know that beforehand, then inside they made us take them out for we were over the time Experience not well organized Girl prepared in a very scholastic way and not prepared to deal with difficulties I would absolutely not recommend it organized like this

Our guide, Marguerita, was wonderful. She was sweet, engaging and kept the group moving together. I wish we would've known about the 1.5 hour line to get into St. Peter's. We would've prepared for the day differently, packed ourselves waters and a change of clothes! It was our first experience with microphone and ear piece type of tour. Sometimes it would get very staticky but I think it was due to her position of mic bc we(the group) asked her to hold it closer to her mouth. Overall, it was wonderful!

Hi, we were staying in an apartment very close to the Pantheon in a little Piazza. St. Peter's was just a little in the distance and we would watch the sunset over the dome every night. After a great dinner at a little family cafe for our wedding anniversary,and a stop again at the Trevi fountain at 0130( almost nobody there at that time. Fantastic), I came back to search for St. Peter's basilica tickets and found your site and app. It was very easy to locate what I was looking for,and complete the transaction. We followed the directions to the meeting point. We were uncharacteristically early and arrived before the young man carrying your sign, soI became a little concerned. A short time later a pleasant young man arrived with the sign,and assured us we were in the right spot. Soon our guide, "Stefano" arrived. The earpiece radios were handed out,and he began his presentation. He gave us the history of where we were standing. We went to the security line and he continued with the history of St. Peter's square from before it was St. Peter's square, and gave insight into the entire area. The line moved relatively quickly. Stefano gave the history of all the statues and the doors into the basilica. Once inside he guided us through with descriptions and the history of everything we saw. Amazing. We had a great time. Stefano was very personable, open to questions,and would make eye contact when speaking. He used a tablet screen to show objects that were covered or hidden. He gave the history of "La Pieta", and background on Michelangelo,and his battle to become architect of the basilica as he was painting the Sistine Chapel.My educational background is in history and political science, so I can tell you that Stefano really knew his stuff and was very thorough. His English was perfect. We had studied Italian before we came but nowhere near enough to have a tour in Italian, although we did attend an Italian mass is a beautiful little church near our apartment. All in all were were very happy and satisfied. The price was very fair, and our guide was absolutely amazing. He'd do well as a university professor. Thanks again. I highly recommend Headout, and if you're going to St. Peter's basilica, be sure to try and get Stefano.

The tour of St Peter's Basilica and the papal tombs was brilliant. Our tour guide was so informative and it was really interesting. I would definitely love to do it all again.

The tour guide was superb, he made the experience magical educational and fun. The organisation was Terrible. As instructed we arrived 15 mins early at the location described and shown in a photograph. No one came even after the tour start time. I phoned and was told she will arrive. She did , 5 minutes after start time , and we were shown the gathering point , different side of large building. Now the guide took over and made everything ok. Your Administration skills and website updates are terrible. Well done our guide with umbrella and fedora hat... he is the usp of your company

The guide was lovely and knowledgeable which was good. The actual tour was great but being in the queue for roughly 1 hour was quite difficult for me as I am (not visibly) disabled so I did find it very tough to concentrate standing in the queue for so long.

Pick up location was not clear, there were other tour guides in same location, we got confused which one is ours & few people in our tour had different company name, but overall tour was nice.

The church and sites were beautiful and our tour guide Vallery was very informative and engaging. I would recommend the tour again, especially if Vallery is giving it. Cheers!

Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. We queued for 45 minutes for security checks. The tour of the Basilica was very interesting but we didn't have long in the Papal tombs at the end.

While I certainly understand that "life" happens and our guide was late due to traffic, it is extremely frustrating as a tourist to spend money on a tour and have it delayed 40 minutes. A few of the people on our tour had to leave early because the delay caused issues with their next scheduled tour. Our day was only minorly effected ( we had to eat lunch on the run instead of a proper sit down meal) so we could make our afternoon tour, but it's stressful. This is vacation, it shouldn't be stressful. Please consider having a back up plan for occasions like this

What I liked the most of my whole trip to Rome was the visit to St. Peter's Basilica. Spectacular both inside and out, the best of baroque art without a doubt.

Absolutely stunning place to visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very nice. Local Italian which made the tour a little more special as he was very passionate about it
