Belem Tower is one of the iconic Lisbon sites to visit. Regardless of how tickets are purchased, it is the same, except for the audio tour provided. It's a bit unfortunate that the audio is sometimes difficult to hear, with the echoing from the rock walls and chattering of other visitors.

I was wearing a billed cap and as a tall person, I failed to see the low entrance to one of the rooms on entry; I hit my head fairly hard on the low clearance rock. A sign might have helped, though it was still my fault. It hurt though.

No audio and I had paid for it. What's more, there was no advantage to buying in advance: we did the line-up for 2 hours. Completely ridiculous.

There is no advantage to pre purchasing tickets. The Belem website says that prepaid tickets can skip the cue which is simply not true. The only lineup, both tickets and non tickets, was hours long. We weren't able to do that on a hot day so have wasted our money.
Will definitely NOT recommend.

They cost me much more than what they really cost and I hired the guided tour, which I could not do and no matter how many times I called it was impossible to get in touch. Result: horrible
