Plan your visit
Main Entrance (Great Pyramid Gate)
The Main Entrance, also known as the Great Pyramid Gate, is located on Al Haram Street, directly opposite the Mena House Hotel. This is the primary access point for all visitors and is clearly signposted. The entrance is equipped with ticket booths and security checks. While the approach is mostly flat, please note that the terrain inside the complex is sandy and uneven, which may pose challenges for wheelchair users. There are no dedicated ramps or elevators within the pyramid interiors, but the main outdoor areas are accessible with assistance.
Sphinx Entrance (Eastern Gate)
The Sphinx Entrance is situated near the iconic Sphinx statue, on the eastern side of the Giza Plateau. This entrance is convenient for visitors arriving from the direction of Nazlet El-Semman village. It provides direct access to the Sphinx and the surrounding temples. The path here is also sandy and uneven, and there are no ramps or elevators, so accessibility is limited for those with mobility challenges.
Special Hours/Closures: The site remains open year-round, including public holidays. However, opening hours may be adjusted during Ramadan and on select national holidays. It is recommended to check for updates before your visit, especially during religious festivals or extreme weather conditions.
