As one of Cancun’s top 10 best beaches, Playa Maroma is a simply wonderful place to explore stunning landscapes made up of white sand beaches, a beautiful turquoise sea, and to soak in the warm climate that you can only find in the Caribbean. Located in this beach paradise is Dolphin Discovery, where you have the unique opportunity of swimming with dolphins. The Royal Swim Program experience begins with you standing on a submerged platform, where the dolphins swim close enough to you for you to touch, hug and kiss!

What’s exciting is when you do fun activities with two dolphins, who are always eager to play with you. First, you will have to swim a certain distance so that the dolphins can swim towards you and you can hold on to their dorsal fins to be pulled by the water. Then, you will be static in the water and they will push you to rise above the water - a truly out-of-this-world experience!

Important Information

An additional cost of $150 MXN for companions will be levied if you require transportation and access to the beach club (lounge chairs, showers, lockers, beach access)

Currently, the facility is NOT accepting US dollars in cash (check-in, restaurant, boutique, and photos). However, they do accept Mexican pesos in cash. If you want to use an international credit or debit card, payments will be done in Mexican or US currency

The entrance of external food and drinks is not allowed

At Dolphin Playa in Maroma, groups have a maximum of 20 people for a better experience

The use of life jackets is mandatory in all aquatic programs

Children taller than 1.40 m will be able to participate alone in any program when paying the adult rate

Children with a height of 1.21 m and up to 1.40 m will be able to participate alone in the Encounter program

Children with a height of 1 m and up to 1.20 m may participate in the Encounter program accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket

Children shorter than 1 m will be considered infants and will carry out Encounter program activities regardless of the program in which they participate (it is a requirement that they adjust their vest)

For security reasons, the use of underwater cameras is not allowed. However, professional photographs will be available for purchase

Don't forget to use biodegradable sunscreen to take care of your skin, the environment and marine species

For safety reasons, women who are 5 months pregnant or less, can only participate in the Dolphin Encounter program accompanied by another adult and after signing the responsibility form

Women with more than 5 months of pregnancy cannot participate in any of the water activities

Remember to arrive 30 minutes before your program since you will receive an orientation

It is recommended that you bring towels, as well as cash for taxis, purchases, meals and other expenses

Getting There

By Car: Take the Highway 307 (Carretera 307) that goes from north to south along the Mexican Caribbean coast

While leaving from Cancun, follow the signs to Playa del Carmen and Tulum, Puerto Aventuras is located between Xcaret and Xpu-Ha

The signs are very clear. Once you get to Puerto Aventuras complex, you will find the signs that will lead you to Dolphin Discovery facilities
