Enjoy a fun-filled holiday in Riviera Maya, more specifically Playa del Carmen. Relax as you soak in the sandy white beaches and turquoise sea waters, and go swimming with adorable dolphins! Get up close and personal with these fantastic marine animals through the Dolphin Encounter program at Dolphin Discovery. After a brief orientation, make your way into the water and play with the friendly dolphins. You can also go for a handshake, hug or a kiss! Even non-swimmers can participate in this experience as you’ll be standing on a submerged platform. Later, when you’ve built up an appetite, head to the Cocotales restaurant and choose from 5 dishes to feast on: hamburgers, Fish Ceviches, Chicken Fajitas, Green Salad and Caesar Salad.

Important Information

An additional cost of $150 MXN for companions will be levied if you require transportation and access to the beach club (lounge chairs, showers, lockers, beach access)

Currently, the facility is NOT accepting US dollars in cash (check-in, restaurant, boutique, and photos). However, they do accept Mexican pesos in cash. If you want to use an international credit or debit card, payments will be done in Mexican or US currency

External food and drinks are not allowed in the premises

At Dolphin Playa in Maroma, groups are limited to a maximum of 20 people for a better experience

The use of life jackets is mandatory in all aquatic programs

Children taller than 1.40 m will be able to participate alone in any program when paying the adult rate

Children with a height of 1.21 m and up to 1.40 m will be able to participate alone in the Encounter program

Children with a height of 1 m and up to 1.20 m may participate in the Encounter program accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket

Children shorter than 1 m will be considered infants and will carry out Encounter program activities regardless of the program in which they participate (it is a requirement that they adjust their vest)

For security reasons, the use of underwater cameras is not allowed. However, professional photographs will be available for purchase

Don't forget to use biodegradable sunscreen to take care of your skin, the environment and the marine species

For safety reasons, women who are 5 months pregnant or less, can only participate in the Dolphin Encounter program accompanied by another adult and after signing the responsibility form

Women with more than 5 months of pregnancy cannot participate in any of the water activities

Remember to arrive 30 minutes before your program since you will receive an orientation

It is recommended that you bring towels, as well as cash for taxis, purchases, meals and other expenses

Getting There

By Car: Take the Highway 307 (Carretera 307) that goes from north to south along the Mexican Caribbean coast

While leaving from Cancun, follow the signs to Playa del Carmen and Tulum, Puerto Aventuras is located between Xcaret and Xpu-Ha

The signs are very clear. Once you get to Puerto Aventuras complex, you will find the signs that will lead you to Dolphin Discovery facilities
