Opened in 1928, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the most renowned museums in the United States. The museum is spread across an area of nearly 160,000 square feet and is the 30th largest art museum in the world. Containing 240,000 objects in its collection primarily from Asia, European and American origin, it includes numerous. The museum is home to some of the most famous paintings by Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso Vincent van Gogh, Matisse, Thomas Eakins and a number of other prolific artists.
The museum is modeled after the Greek temples of the past, with the front face having massive Corinthian columns. A 16th-century Indian temple hall, a Japanese teahouse, and a Chinese Palace hall from the 17th-century can also be found within its premises. The massive museum calls for a full-day visit, and even that might not be enough to visit all the exhibits!
