The visit to Monet's House & Garden fulfilled another tick on our bucket list & was delightful. Made all the better by our young lady guide who went the extra mile to make the experience memorable. She arrived before time & ensured that we were all well equipped to hear her commentary . When she realised that 2 people in the group had hearing aids, she made sure that when she stopped for her very well prepared presentations that they were in front of her so that they did not miss anything. She focused on her group kept us together & was not distracted by the very many other groups walking around the gardens. Her presentations were detailed, humerous & included many photographs to emphasise her talk. Everyone in the group said how much they enjoyed her company & her tour.

The commentary was very basic. There were vast opportunities for additional information and anecdotes, and I felt I was sold short. There was a main description of Monet's life and work, but it was just like a Wikipedia page and lacked colour. The guide was pleasant, but didn't transmit an enthusiasm for the artist, or engage with the party. I wasn't sure why we given headphones, as 90% of the time there was nothing said.
