Getting started
Download your ticket to your phone or print the PDF before leaving for the park — arriving without it means paying the difference between the online and walk-up price at the gate. Enter through the main ticket gate at Palmitos Park, Los Palmitos ravine, southern Gran Canaria. The park is open every day from 10 to 6.
What to expect
-
Palmitos Park: Set in a natural ravine in the south of Gran Canaria, Palmitos Park is equal parts botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary — subtropical plants, ancient palms, exotic birds, and endemic Canarian species all sharing a single valley. It's been open for decades and remains one of Gran Canaria's most genuinely distinctive days out.
-
Orchid House: The park's most spectacular indoor space. The largest orchid collection in the Canary Islands lives here — thousands of specimens in extraordinary variety, from pale and architectural to electric and tropical. Worth taking your time with.
-
Aviary: A free-flight enclosure where exotic birds move freely overhead and land beside you on the trails. Colourful, surprising, and impossible to rush through.
-
Palm Collection: Sourced from across the globe and planted throughout the park, the palm collection gives Palmitos its character — towering specimens that frame every view across the ravine.
-
Cactus Garden: An open-air cactus collection where some of the specimens reach heights that will genuinely stop you mid-path. Dramatic in the best way.
-
Lake — Spectacled Caiman & Canary Island Lizard: The park's lake is shared by two remarkable animals: the Spectacled Caiman, a crocodilian from South and Central America, and the Canary Island Lizard — an endemic species that exists nowhere else on Earth. Both live here in the kind of quiet coexistence that takes decades to establish.
-
Dolphin Encounter: The park runs an educational Dolphin Encounter programme — a chance to get into the water with the resident dolphins and spend genuine time with them. This is not included in the entry ticket, costs extra, and must be booked directly with the park team once you're inside. Places are limited and available on the day only.
