We drove there and parked in the university parking lot. It was very quick to get to the train and funicular. Although it was foggy at times, when the fog cleared, the views were breathtaking. The service from the restaurant manager at the top of the route was excellent.

It is a lovely zoo - very hilly as you would expect on the side of a mountain, but the animal enclosures are spaced about and you are able to go inside a lot of the bird enclosures.

Finally, choose to save some money by selecting the happy hour tickets which give you a 20% discount if you enter before 9:30am or after 3:30pm.

Important Information

The Hungerburg Funicular is accessible for wheelchair, pram, and stroller users.

Pets and guide dogs are allowed to tag along. However, they must wear a muzzle or must remain in a suitable transport box during the cable car rides and will not be transported without.
