Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Avatar Mountains Guided Day Tour with Hotel Transfers and Tickets

Explore Zhangjiajie National Forest Park's Avatar mountains in a guided full-day tour with transport, park shuttles, and key tickets included.

Getting started

Begin your day with round-trip hotel transfers in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle from designated areas in Zhangjiajie or Wulingyuan. Meet your expert English-speaking guide as you enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park using your pre-arranged entrance ticket. After ticket checks, you board the park shuttle bus that takes you toward the first scenic area inside the park.

What to expect

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

China's first national forest park, known for its towering sandstone pillars that inspired the floating mountains in Avatar.

Features

• Your entrance to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is prebooked, and park shuttle bus transportation within the scenic area is arranged so you can move efficiently between zones without handling logistics yourself.
• Throughout the day, your professional English-speaking local guide is with you, assisting with ticket reservations and sightseeing arrangements and coordinating timings inside the park.

Bailong Elevator

A glass elevator system built along a cliff face, used to quickly reach the higher plateau areas.

Features

• Ride the Bailong Elevator using your included ticket and travel up the cliffside to the mountaintop in a short vertical journey instead of taking long uphill paths.
• As you ascend, you see the sandstone peaks and deep valleys around you, giving an elevated view of the Zhangjiajie landscape right at the start of your time on the upper platforms.

Yuanjiajie

A plateau area inside the park, known for several iconic viewpoints and rock formations.

Features

• Guided sightseeing at Yuanjiajie includes dedicated time at Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, where you observe the isolated pillar that inspired the film's floating mountains.
• You visit Enchanting Terrace with your guide, who points out surrounding sandstone columns clustered around the viewpoint.
• The route also brings you to First Bridge Under Heaven, a natural rock bridge that links two peaks, and your guide helps you identify the surrounding formations from the viewing paths.

Tianzi Mountain

A high viewpoint area recognized for panoramic views across dense clusters of peaks.

Features

• Use your Tianzi Mountain Cable Car ticket to travel up or down the mountain, saving walking time on steep slopes while you look across the valleys from the cabin.
• At Tianzi Mountain viewpoints, your guided visit focuses on wide views of dramatic peaks and misty valleys, with stops at platforms selected by your guide for perspective over the larger mountain groups.

Golden Whip Stream

A valley-floor stream area that contrasts with the higher viewpoints, visited if conditions and time allow.

Features

• When time permits, your guide leads you to Golden Whip Stream, where the walking route runs between tall sandstone cliffs so you can see the pillars from below.
• This visit is included conditionally and is arranged by your guide based on park conditions and schedule, rounding out the day with a lower-level perspective of the Zhangjiajie landscape.

Wrapping up

After completing the guided sections at the viewpoints and, when possible, Golden Whip Stream, you return by park shuttle bus to the exit area. Your driver then provides round-trip hotel transfers back to your accommodation in the designated service areas, concluding your full-day outing at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
