Museums in Napoli

Pompeii was one of the most memorable places we visited in Italy. Walking through the ancient streets and standing among the impressive columns made history feel incredibly real. The ruins are atmospheric, full of fascinating details and perfect for taking photos. Our Headout tickets made entry quick and easy.

The MANN has so many interesting items in their collections especially those related to Pompeii and Herculaneum. The objects were very easy to view with placards in both Italian and English explaining the history behind the item. The size of some of the statuary was immense and makes you wonder how they were sculpted. Imagine the delight of the archeologists discovering piece after piece of ancient history.

I visited Pompeii and Herculaneum as part of a tour and delayed my return flight to give me a day in Naples. Prior to the holiday, I bought from Headout a retun bus ticket from the airport and a timed entrance to the Naples Archeological Museum. I was quite anxious but everything ran really smoothly. I arrived early at the museum thinking I would need to wait but was taken through past the queue (not lengthy but nice not to join). The museum is in a fabulous building (Sundial Hall) and the exhibits are exquisit. The cameo Farnese bowl and Blue Vase are exceptionally beautiful. The description behind the Memento Mori mosaic, is reflective and is to encourage us to live life to the full. I fully recommend a visit.

Begge rundturene er interessante, og det er parkeringsmuligheter ved start- og målpunktet ved slottet. Kommentarene er nyttige, men kan være vanskelige å forstå.

Jeg var på jakt etter en kombinasjonsbillett for å besøke Pompeii og Vesuv på én dag, og dette alternativet var perfekt. Hele prosessen, fra bestilling til å finne frem til stedene, var veldig enkel og grei. Jeg hadde en virkelig hyggelig dag.
