Let your Grand Canyon day end with a different kind of view.
As daylight fades, the sky above Desert View becomes the focus of your own private evening. Settle into comfortable seating, wrap yourself in a blanket, and explore the stars with an astronomy educator dedicated to your group. Whether you’re sharing a quiet night as a couple or gathering with family, there’s time to ask questions, linger at the telescope, and enjoy being somewhere extraordinary together.
Your guide brings the night sky into focus through powerful telescopes, constellation storytelling, and live deep-space imaging. Depending on the season and conditions, you may explore planets, glittering star clusters, glowing nebulae, or distant galaxies. Along the way, you’ll learn what you’re seeing and how it fits into the universe beyond us, without needing any astronomy experience of your own.
This approximately two-hour experience is a memorable addition to a stay at the Grand Canyon or in Tusayan. We meet at Desert View, near the park’s East Entrance approached from Cameron. Guests coming from Grand Canyon Village or Tusayan should allow time for the scenic drive along the South Rim; this is not a meeting point near the South Entrance.
Comfortable seating, blankets, and complimentary night-sky keepsakes bring a personal touch to the evening. Photos beneath the stars are included with your private tour.
