Sunset Boulevard, the Tony-winning Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, hits Sydney! Faded silent film star Norma Desmond becomes fixated on a young writer. Will her Hollywood dreams turn tragic?

  • The brainchild of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sunset Boulevard is all set for Sydney. Tickets for this show are selling out quickly, to no surprise! The show has won a record 7 Tony Awards, including the top prize for Best Musical. This production marks the return of Sarah Brightman, who was the very first Christine in Phantom of the Opera. In her first time back on stage in 30 years, she's playing the mysterious Norma Desmond. Tim Draxl plays Joe Gillis and Paul Warwick Griffin directs.

    The story

Faded silent film star Norma Desmond, living in a faded Hollywood mansion, clings to the ghosts of her glamorous past. When struggling writer Joe Gillis enters her world, Norma sees him as her ticket back to the top. Blinded by the luxury she offers, Joe gets sucked into her delusional world. As he writes her fantasy script, the lines blur between Norma's faded reality and her desperate dream of a comeback. Will Joe be the key to her return, or will Norma's obsession destroy them? Book your Sunset Boulevard Sydney tickets and find out.
