Sky, stone, and a cave feast — all before noon.
Picked up from your hotel and delivered to one of the most dramatic ancient sites in the Americas, this day layers a sunrise balloon flight, underground dining, and a crash course in Mexican craft traditions.
Getting started
Your hotel pickup in Mexico City is timed for the early morning drive to the Teotihuacán launch site. The first balloon departure is at 6:20am; a second flight at 7:40am may run if the first is full. On arrival, settle in with coffee, tea, and cookies while the crew inflates the balloon and walks you through the pre-flight safety briefing.
What to expect
Hot air balloon ride
Float above the Valley of Teotihuacán for 35 to 50 minutes as sunrise breaks over the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. The Avenue of the Dead stretches below you — the scale of the ancient city only really makes sense from the air. On landing, toast with sparkling wine and collect your flight certificate.
Natural cave breakfast
Descend into a natural volcanic cave for a full regional buffet — one of the more memorable dining settings in Mexico. This is your chance to sit, eat, and take stock of the morning before the day continues.
Local artisan cooperative
A visit to a local cooperative covers obsidian carving, the many uses of the maguey plant, and the traditions behind Mexico's native spirits. You'll get to taste mezcal, tequila, and pulque before moving on.
Teotihuacán
Spend 1.5 hours exploring the archaeological zone at your own pace. Walk the Avenue of the Dead, approach the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon from ground level, and take in the Temple of Quetzalcoatl. Note: site entry is not included in the ticket and can be purchased separately at the gate.
Transfers back to your hotel in Mexico City wrap up your day.
