In the middle of March, on a Friday, there were very few visitors. You could get into all the rooms and exhibits without any problems. The audio guide worked very well and accurately. The tiket sale, audio output is no longer in the place as indicated. An employee sent us on.

Even though it tells you to show up 15 min earlier you Cannot receive your audio player until the marked time. Which is fine. As i stood for the last 10 min people could not form a line and kept sneaking in front of my family. Which is.... OK. But when they unlocked the door people were pushing almost running over my son. Maybe putting out rope to keep people in check. Also as we toured with our audio we loved it however we missed half of the castle and had to sneak back after the audio tour to see the rest.

I love castles and getting to visit the biggest brick castle in the world was amazing. I thought the pacing of the tour was really well done.
  • From drawbridge to courtyard, discover Castle wonders

Enter this 13th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site with an expert audio guide in multiple languages. The Historical Route offers an in-depth 3.5-hour exploration where you uncover the entire castle's grandeur. Be awed by the innovative brick-making technique used by the Teutonic Knights, allowing rapid construction of the enormous fortress. Cross the grand drawbridge and step into the vibrant courtyard, where a majestic oak stands sentinel against vine-draped red brick walls. The Grand Masters’ Palace beckons with its soaring palm-vaulted ceiling and Roman heating, once hosting illustrious guests. Feast in the magnificent Great Refectory beneath an intricate fan vault! Explore a museum brimming with dazzling amber and historic artifacts. Don't miss the castle bakery, where medieval pots and dishes evoke the spirit of the Teutonic era!

    Outer bailey wonders!

If you choose the Castle Grounds Route, you'll focus on specific areas such as the Outer Bailey, and walk the gate passages along the perimeters that’s when you realise how big this thing is.
