MAAT Main Entrance (Wave Building)
Located at Avenida Brasília, this is the primary entrance to the contemporary MAAT Gallery. Look for the striking curved, tile-clad façade facing the Tagus River. The entrance is step-free and fully wheelchair accessible, with wide automatic doors and ramps leading directly into the ticketing area and galleries. This entrance is closest to the riverside promenade and the Belém tram stop.
Electricity Factory Entrance (Central Tejo)
Situated just east of the main MAAT building, this entrance is on Avenida Brasília, adjacent to the historic red-brick power station. It provides direct access to the Electricity Factory’s interactive exhibits and is also fully wheelchair accessible, with ramps and elevators available. Visitors can move freely between both buildings once inside.
Regular Hours: Open Wednesday to Monday from 11:00am to 7:00pm.
Last Entry: Final admission is at 6:30pm.
Closed: Every Tuesday, as well as January 1, May 1, and December 25.
Special Closures: Occasionally closed for exhibition changeovers or private events—check the official MAAT website for up-to-date information before your visit.
Free Entry: Portuguese residents enjoy free admission on the first Sunday of each month (morning only).
Free lockers are available for storing large bags and personal items. Please use them before entering the galleries.
Audio guides and guided tours are available for select exhibitions and must be booked in advance or at the information desk.
A souvenir shop is located near the main entrance, offering exhibition catalogs, art books, and unique gifts.
