After arriving at the designated meeting point on time, your local guide will navigate you through the busy streets of Kyoto’s Nishiki Market. The family-owned stalls and shops have stood the test of time for centuries, making for quite a culturally-enriching experience! Sample local dishes like tsukemono (vegetables preserved in vinegar), Yuuba (the world’s smoothest sashimi tofu), Kamaboko (seafood preserved in fish paste), Tako (Octopus with quail egg) and Macha Warabi Mochi (a special traditional sweet covered in ground tea leaves).

After your stall-hopping expedition at Nishiki Market, head to a local restaurant nearby for a delicious 7-course lunch made from local ingredients. This tour will give you a sense of the history of the Nishiki Market over multiple generations.
