The visit to Windsor Castle was very enjoyable. The entry process was well managed. Helpful staff, wonderful exhibits. The only downside was the expensive food and drink. £6 for an egg salad sandwich is really taking the mickey. So we waited until we left the castle to have lunch in a more reasonably priced pub.

My husband's birthday couldn't go unnoticed, and the best gift was the invitation to Windsor Castle. It was wonderful; we saw the chapel where Queen Elizabeth is buried, and I was very moved. We took many photos in the garden. It was a worthwhile experience.

Windsor Castle was magnificent! Just so amazing to see all of that history and artifacts. Mind boggling how old the castle was. We even got to see some guard changing or presentation while there. We also walked around town and it was so quaint and cute.

I was concerned that there was no QR or bar code on my ticket but just showed my eTicket on my phone and ticket printed out for me at the ticket office. Staff all recognised headout site and directed me where t go.

The guide who took the time to show is the Misericords in the choir of the chapel was very intresting and surprising, I learnt a lot from this guide!

What’s not allowed

Photography is strictly prohibited inside Windsor Castle.

Large backpacks and pushchairs are not permitted inside the State Apartments.

Your pets are not permitted on this experience.

Additional information

The Semi-State Apartments will remain open until March 29, 2026.

Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. St. George’s Chapel at Windsor is closed to visitors on Sundays and on February 28, 2026. On some days, the State Apartments may also be closed.

Windsor Castle will be completely closed from January 8-12, March 19, and June 14-15, 2026. The Semi-State Rooms will be closed on January 15, 2026.

If you upgrade to include train transfers, note that you must change trains at Slough. A full information pack containing your train and Windsor Castle ticket will be emailed to you 10 days before you travel.
