Salt mine was very beautiful and impressive. Guide, who picked us up from the pick up point and took care of us whole trip was very professional and good. Salt mine guide was knowledgeable and spoke excellent english. She was very precise all the time, that everybody in the group is with her and nobody gets lost in the mine, which is vastly bigger than what we saw. I very much enjoyed whole experience and I absolutely recommend this tour for everyone. You can't go woring with Salt mine visit. Further, if you want a more special fridge magnet or a mug with a print that is not a generic one, check the souvenir kiosk outside salt mine. I got mine with a very reasonable price and certainly better deal than generic souvenir shop in the Kraków center.

Merci à notre guide Justine qui nous a fait découvrir cet endroit magnifique. C'est à couper le souffle. Je recommande vivement cette visite. Justine est passionnée et c'est une personne fort sympathique. Par contre nous avions prit un chauffeur pour nous rendre à la mine de sel via l'application qui, par contre, n'est pas à recommander. On paie une prestation pour un transfert aller retour et ce monsieur nous a déposer en centre ville et nous a demandé de rentrer à pieds, nous sommes resté choqué face à cet imprévu !

Luogo estremamente affascinante, la basilica di Santa Kinga vale da sola l'escursione, ma ci sono altre camere molto interessanti. L'intera visita dura quasi tre ore e per risalire in superficie si utilizza un ascensore molto piccolo non adatto ai claustrofobici. Il servizio di pick up è molto utile, anche se al ritorno abbiamo dovuto attendere una ventina di minuti che arrivasse un secondo autista in quanto il primo era andato via senza avvisare.

The tour was brilliant and the tour guide very good and funny too, the hole place is amazing, but be prepared to walk a lot of stairs, once deep inside the mine it's an amazing place and huge, a lot to take in a see. Very good tour, from pickup to return, very well organised.

Interesting, informative but heart wrenching at the same time! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and spent time explaining various parts of the camp. The only criticism is that there were exhibits we didn't get to see due to time constraints of the actual tour

We didn't really know what to expect, but our tour guide provided us with a wealth of information and there were lots to see and experience along the way. The carvings, the video scenes of the gas explosions and the story reflected in the salt water were great too!

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978, the Wieliczka Salt Mine has operated continuously since the 13th century and is one of Poland’s most treasured cultural monuments. Descend 800 stairs to explore a vast underground world, reaching a depth of 135 meters.

What to bring

Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Bring warm clothing as the temperature underground ranges between 14° and 16° C.

What’s not allowed

Luggage or large bags are not allowed inside the mine.

Luggage larger than 30 x 20 x 10 centimeters is not permitted (can be left on the bus if applicable).

Accessibility

Not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility impairments.

There are approximately 800 steps to climb, with 350 at the beginning to descend into the mine.

Additional information

The tour is not recommended for anyone with claustrophobia.

Maximum group size is 40 visitors per guide.

The pace and duration of guided tours are determined by visitor service regulations; duration is approximate.

Toilet facilities are spaced along the route at approximately 40 and 90 minutes from the start of the visit.

If your child is less than 150 cm tall, please inform the local partner so a child seat can be arranged.

Your pickup time may be adjusted; you will be informed by the activity provider if necessary.

The local partner will contact you by WhatsApp, email, or phone the day before your tour to confirm pickup time and details.

If your accommodation is in Krakow’s Old Town or Kazimierz (restricted traffic zones), the nearest possible pickup point will be confirmed.

Meet at the UNESCO monument in front of the entrance to the mine if not using pickup.
