No point pretending otherwise - the crowds were horrendous. Luckily, of course, we didn't have to join those huge queues for tickets ( in the.blistering sun) - that made an enormous difference to the day. Everything was still very crowded but you could weave your way through the groups with guides. I much prefer.making my own way and I'd been before which helps. It is tbe sheer volume and area of artistic historical exhibits that is so breathtaking for me. And you can never relax. Every corridor, every wall , every ceiling is full of artistic treasure. And, of course you reach The Sistine Chapel ( look out for the sneaky back staircase!)... Hundreds of people still, of course, but I was lucky enough to get a bench near the back so I could relax and take in the marvellous sight. Everybody will have their favourite (apart from the miraculous work in general of Michelangelo on the ceiling and the Last Judgement ). I always look at the Sibyls and the Prophets. The Delphic Sibyl is my favourite I think - I don't know why...Despite the heat and the crowds it is an experience I will never forget. Everybody should go at least once

Absolutely fantastic experience visiting the Colosseum, Pantheon, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill! The views were breathtaking, and walking through these incredible historical sites made the trip to Rome truly unforgettable. A special mention to the Headout app—it made everything so easy and convenient from start to finish. The booking process was quick and straightforward, the tickets were easy to access directly on my phone, and having all the booking information in one place made the day completely stress-free. Bien organizado, te hacen ir a validar los tickets de compra al punto de encuentro y allí te explican el procedimiento, cuando está todo el grupo de tu hora, te acompaña un guía que te va indicando por dónde pasar sin colas y te da una explicación de cómo visitar San Pedro. Te acompañan hasta la misma entrada de la subida a la cúpula y ahí ya te dejan. Viene muy bien esta opción de compra, ya que hay mucha cola para todo y puede ser confuso cómo acceder a los sitios. Personal amable y nos regalaron una botella de agua a cada uno al iniciar el tour. Nuestra acompañante fue Nikita.

The Vatican Museums are absolutely beautiful and definitely worth seeing at least once. The artwork, architecture, and history are incredible, and the Sistine Chapel is especially impressive in person. That said, it was extremely crowded, which made it difficult to really stop and appreciate everything. I’d definitely recommend going as early as possible and booking tickets ahead of time. An amazing experience overall, but be prepared for a lot of people!

Der vereinbarte Treffpunkt war leicht zu finden. Auch hier sollte man früh genug vor Ort sein. Bei Frauen müssen Schultern & Knie bedeckt sein ( vor Ort kann man auch Schals kaufen für 10€ ) , sonst hat alles geklappt. Wir haben nicht lange uns anstellen müssen aber es waren trotzdem sehr viele Leute im Vatikan. Es war sehr heiß und leider nicht wirklich klimatisiert. Es ist aber aufjedenfall sehenswert und bewundernswert!

Wir hatten die Führung in Deutsch mit Maria. Es war eine tolle Führung und wir haben extrem viel Erfahrungen gesammelt. Unsere Führung war gleich Morgens, deshalb auch noch von der Hitze her ok. Die Tour wurde über Headout gebucht und von Italy Pass Tours durchgeführt. Alles war Planmäßig. Vielen Dank für die tolle Organisation. Wir können Headout uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen! El servicio de los trabajadores que me atendieron en la oficina fue muy buena, eran super amables, atentos y la entrada fue genial, pero si que tengo que recalcar que si quieren disfrutar de una experiencia más tranquila del vaticano recomiendo reservas muy temprano porque a medio día ya se llena mucho. Recomiendo muchísimo reservar por aquí, está muy bien gestionado.

Reservé el viaje a Roma a última hora y conseguí todas las entradas juntas en un paquete, lo que me facilitó bastante ya que no encontraba disponibilidad en otras webs. La experiencia muy buena, en el punto de encuentro te da la documentación necesaria y haces la visita (en nuestro caso), a nuestro aire.

La verdad que es muy bonito, pero creo que tendrían que bajar el aforo de la gente que puede visitar por día. Creo que hay demasiada gente y se pasa mucho calor

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: knees, shoulders, and back must be covered for all guests.

When in Sistine Chapel, silence is mandatory and photography is prohibited. Guides will provide all necessary and interesting details before entry.

Luggage and/or large bags are not allowed inside the venue. You may drop off your bags with the free cloakroom service.

Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue.

Accessibility

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.

This type of visit cannot be booked online—tickets are issued in person at the Special Permits and/or Reception desks in the museum hall upon presentation of a certificate of invalidity. The Vatican Museums offer free wheelchair hire and free entry for visitors with mobility impairments (certified invalidity exceeding 74%) and a companion if required. Additional information

Names are mandatory for all the bookings. Double check the names at check out for a hassle-free entry and be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.

The entrance to the Museums is timed. Be sure to select your activity starting time when booking. Once inside the Museums, you will be free to explore at your own pace.

If you've chosen the Vatican Gardens open-bus tour, your visit will begin with the garden tour, followed by entry into the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. The multilingual audio guide is available during the garden tour only—not for the museum and chapel visit.

Please note that the Vatican reserves the right to close the Sistine Chapel at short notice for institutional events.

Although not included in these tickets, access to St. Peter's Basilica is free. Please expect long waiting times during peak season for both, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica.

If you’ve opted for hosted entry, keep in mind that the host is not a guide—they’re simply there to assist and escort you through the entry process.

While this experience offers skip-the-line access, you will still need to go through a mandatory security check. This cannot be skipped and may take additional time during peak hours or seasons.
