Booking a hosted skip the line ticket made it so easy for us to get into the Vatican Museums. After receiving detailed instructions on where to meet, we met our host,Jonathan, at the Inside Out office, which was very close to the main entrance of the museum. I think without a host, we would have waited in the very long line and maybe even the wrong one. Jonathan got us to the front of the line, through security, and escorted us right up to the 2nd entrance where we got in quickly. We spent about 2 hours exploring until we reached the Sistine Chapel. It was a wonderful experience, and yes, we would book it again. Tip: Bring headphones so you can listen to their provided audio tour on your phone or on the MP3 device you can rent at the museum for 8€.

Visiting the Vatican was truly an unforgettable experience. Before going, I could not have imagined the size and beauty of the buildings — they were far beyond what any photo could show. The guide contacted us beforehand with clear instructions about when and where to arrive, which made everything easy and well-organized. Once we got there, the guide helped us find the right line and explained everything in a friendly and professional way. Although there were many people, it never felt too crowded or stressful. The atmosphere was calm and respectful. The paintings and decorations were simply indescribable — their detail and colors left me speechless. It was an inspiring and breathtaking visit that I would highly recommend to anyone.

On November 18th, my daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting the Vatican accompanied by our guide, Francesca (name to be confirmed). From the outset, she conducted the tour with a high level of professionalism and courtesy, immediately putting me at ease despite my initial nervousness about the meeting. Her knowledge of the Vatican Museums was truly impressive. The way she presented the history, context, and significance of the artworks was both eloquent and engaging. Visiting the Sistine Chapel was an incredibly emotional experience. Seeing such extraordinary monuments and sculptures with my own eyes made me feel deeply connected to the past. Standing there, you can almost imagine how people lived centuries ago and how they managed to create something so powerful, detailed, and timeless without the technology we have today.

The overall experience was so informative, emotional & a must do on anyone's trip to Rome. The art work was amazing, the museum was exciting, The Sistine Chapel was out of this word as was St Peter's Bassilica

This was by far our favourite tour of our European holiday. Barbera was an exceptional guide—knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging, with explanations that were easy to follow and brought to life through her expressive delivery. We were especially grateful for her patience at the start, as our little one needed a bathroom break and we arrived slightly closer to the start time than usual. Although the tour is typically three hours, Barbera was very generous with her time, frequently stopping to highlight and explain details throughout the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, including paintings, tapestries, sculptures, and architectural features. She was funny, courteous, and truly enriched our experience. We absolutely loved this tour and would highly recommend Barbera to anyone visiting the Vatican.

the problem with our visit is that we were forced to buy a second ticket as the vatican decided 2 days before to book a ceremony at the CISTINE CHAPEL denying us the entry, in spite of this venue being i nlcuded in the booked and payed ticket and your good company instead of refunding or resheduling due to the limited access we would have , they simply claimed there is nothing they cold do ! we payed 155 euros to see a museum which is ridiculous as a cost, ( the acropolis museaum in greece is 20 euros !! ) headout should really rethink is cancellation and refuning practises as they have became very opprotunist and profit seeking , and instead of providing a service at areasonable cost they skin their customers dry

What to bring

Wear comfortable shoes as the experience requires a fair amount of walking.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: knees, shoulders, and back must be covered for all guests.

When in Sistine Chapel, silence is mandatory and photography is prohibited. Guides will provide all necessary and interesting details before entry.

Luggage and/or large bags are not allowed inside the venue. You may drop off your bags with the free cloakroom service.

Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue.

Accessibility

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.

This type of visit cannot be booked online—tickets are issued in person at the Special Permits and/or Reception desks in the museum hall upon presentation of a certificate of invalidity. The Vatican Museums offer free wheelchair hire and free entry for visitors with mobility impairments (certified invalidity exceeding 74%) and a companion if required. Names are mandatory for all the bookings. Double check the names at check out for a hassle-free entry and be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.

The entrance to the Museums is timed. Be sure to select your activity starting time when booking. Once inside the Museums, you will be free to explore at your own pace.

If you've chosen the Vatican Gardens open-bus tour, your visit will begin with the garden tour, followed by entry into the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. The multilingual audio guide is available during the garden tour only—not for the museum and chapel visit.

Please note that the Vatican reserves the right to close the Sistine Chapel at short notice for institutional events

Although not included in these tickets, access to St. Peter's Basilica is free. Please expect long waiting times during peak season for both, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica.
