The process of getting in to the Vatican once we picked up our ticket, was very easy. Our guide - and I apologize for not recalling the name, was very knowledgeable, shared fun details as well as little known facts and made the whole experience very memorable. Yes, the crowds were there, however a good guide - which we had, knows how to navigate them and still allow us to have a thorough look at the highlights. This was the highlight of our trip!

They charged us 15 extra euro per person for a fake skip the line entry to the bascilica. The guide spoke very fast and we left the museum without asking if we wanted to stay inside the museum. We left the museum and could not go back

Siamo usciti dai Musei Vaticani arricchiti non solo dal punto di vista culturale, ma anche spirituale. Ringraziamo di cuore Benedetta per la sua pazienza, la sua disponibilità e per aver condiviso con noi il suo tempo e le sue profonde conoscenze storiche, artistiche e architettoniche. È stata un'esperienza che porteremo a lungo nel cuore.

Der Besuch war echt toll. Georgia , unsere Führerin, hat uns alles wichtiges und drüber hinaus viel gezeigt. Man hat gemerkt, dass sie selbst begeistert ist von dem was sie erzählt und hat uns auch oft auf die kleinen Details aufmerksam gemacht. Es war sehr sehr warm, daher haben wir vorher alle eine kleine Wasserflasche kostenlos bekommen und wurden auch während der Tour gefragt, ob alles okay ist. Nach der Tournkonntwn wir noch so lange in den Vatikanischen Museen bleiben wie wir wollten.

The tour guide was fantastic and so friendly. We had a train to catch and had to leave tour early and the tour guide explained a short cut so we could quickly finish my desire to see the sistine chapel. I would do it again in a heart beat. Allow yourself time in Rome. The architecture and history are so beautiful. Our hotel was 3 hours away but if you stay in room you can enjoy more of all the sights. The people are so eager to help. A must do!

We had a wonderful experience touring the Vatican museums and the Sistine chapel. Because it was a guided tour, the pace through the museums was pretty quick but I felt we saw most of the high impact details! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions we had. It was a very hot day, but our guide made every effort to get us into shade as much as possible. Highly recommend if you want a guided experience!!

Fabulous place to visit & definitely worth getting fast track tickets. We were met by a rep from Vivicos travel who was a delight. She was friendly, chatty and so welcoming. She walked us to the entrance of the vatican from their offices and took us right through the checkpoints to the desk inside where we met out guide (can't remember her name, but i know she was from the Philippines, so good at her job). I only wish our guide was as pleasant! She was quite moody & was obviously having a bad day as one of her colleagues hadnt turned up to work. She walked off quickly to.start the tour but i realised nobody could hear her anymore. When I told her she just snapped back & said 'I already asked if you could all hear me'. She didnt actually have her microphone attached so it was totally her fault, but no apology. One lady mentioned she still had problems with her earpiece but was met with a response of 'its not my fault'. That lady eventually left the group. I felt the tour was quite rushed in places, her accent was very strong and she spoke very fast. I spend £400 for an English speaking tour for 4 adults, wish I hadnt bothered with the guide and just made our own way around. That said, it is an amazing place to visit. So glad I booked fast track tickets separately for the basilica without a guide as we took our time and thoroughly enjoyed it as it is absolutely breathtaking. The walk to the domb isn't for the faint hearted, especially with temps in the high 30s, but SO worth it for the views. Great place to visit, but I'd definitely ditch the guided tour and take your time.

We have booked the skip the line tickets for the museum and Sistine Chapel along with the 2 hour tour. Indeed, we skipped the line which was very long on a Saturday morning! As soon as we got into the museum (we passed the security check very easy) we were directed to take the audio and the tour guide was waiting for us by the desk. The tour started immediately. Our tour guide Dora, was very kind, well explanatory and with very good use of English language.

It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes as the tour involves a fair amount of walking

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: knees, shoulders, and back must be covered for all guests.

Big bags and suitcases aren't allowed inside the attraction, but guests can make use of the lockers on site.

When in Sistine Chapel, silence is mandatory and photography is prohibited. Guides will provide all necessary and interesting details before entry.

Photography and the use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the Sistine Chapel.

Power banks are strictly prohibited inside the venue.

Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue, with the exception of guide dogs.

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.

While the tour is not accessible, the Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (certified invalidity exceeding 74%) and a companion.

Additional information

Please note: All guests must pass through airport-style security. During high season and peak hours, the wait time at the security check may be up to 30 minutes.

Purchasing this tour implies an agreement to stick with the assigned guide, without whom you cannot access the Vatican Museums. Opting out or missing the tour means losing ticket rights, without refunds.

Please be aware that during the Jubilee Year, certain areas of the Vatican Museums may be inaccessible due to religious ceremonies. Additionally, entrance to St. Peter's Basilica may also experience unannounced closures.

The Vatican Museums reserve the right to close any section, including the Sistine Chapel, due to unforeseen circumstances. The closure of any museum section does not entitle visitors to any refund.

Note: Michelangelo’s Last Judgement will undergo maintenance until March 2026. While the Sistine Chapel remains open, views of the fresco may be partially obstructed by the scaffolding.
