The guided tour of Pompeii was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of my trip. Skipping the line saved a lot of time, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable, explaining the history of the city in a clear and engaging way. We visited the main houses, streets, and forums while learning fascinating stories about daily life before the eruption. The group size was perfect, not too crowded, and everything was well organized from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to truly understand Pompeii instead of just walking around on their own.

Nous n avions pas eu l information que les billets d entrée une fois payes sur ce site doivent être récupéré dans une agence de voyage à la 2e entrée du site de Pompéi. À l'opposé de la station de train. Après 20 minutes de marche nous avons pu les obtenir. Site fabuleux a voir on peut facilement y passer la journée. Il y a de quoi se restaurer a l intérieur mais à un certain coût. Possibilité d apporter son casse croûte.

Grundsätzlich hat alles perfekt funktioniert, das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und es gab keinerlei Verzögerung. Ein Stern Abzug gibt es für die Location des Tickets Büros. Nach Anreise mit der Bahn mussten wir eineinhalb Kilometer zum Ticket Büro laufen. Das war beim Kauf der Tickets für mich nicht so ersichtlich. Pompeji ist absolut eine reise wert, und ich würde es auch wieder mit Headout gestalten.

Comparing my visits between Pompei and Herculaneum .. Pompei is huge and would need 3 days to see everything. I had a day pass and didn't even see a quarter of the site. Whereas Hereculeum is much smaller and not so damaged. Beautiful frescos. Mosaic floors and buildings. Stunning. If you are really limited for time visit Herculeum only. Wear comfortable shoes and take water to both sites.

Pompeii in and of itself is amazing. So much history and interesting facts to be learned. Our guide, spoke so quickly and without interest or enthusiasm thus we quickly became board. This might have been do to the fact that we as a family had done some research ahead of time? The experience was just less than we had hoped for.

The guide was both extremely knowledgable and entertaining. Clearly he was an actual or wannabe actor. Some of his shtick was a bit over the top, but it was welcome on a very grey day. I thought the tour was well paced, and left me with the basic knowledge of the ruins, which is all you can expect in a 2 hour tour

J'avais pris rdv pour 10h avec une option "plus" donnant droit à la villa des mystères en supplément. L'Agence qui vous donne les vrais billets se trouve face à l'entrée du parc devant l'amphithéâtre, ce qui est opposé à la Porta Marina qui est tout proche de l'arrivée de train Pompéi scavi. J'avais 15 mn de retard et ça n'a posé aucun problème. En revanche et nous avons été plusieurs à se faire piéger, comme on démarre par l'amphithéâtre, on a tendance à remonter vers la Porta Marina et à finir donc par la ville des mystères mais en hiver, le passage pour celle-ci avec tourniquet ferme plus tôt que le reste du parc, 15h30 et on est arrivé trop tard. Attention, on ne peut ressortir du parc pour déjeuner, il faut consommer sur place ou emmener son sandwich. Sinon, visite extraordinaire et malgré 6h sur place, on n'a pas tout vu...

Al llegar sobretodo si vais en tren tened en cuenta que primero tenéis que pasar por la tienda donde te dan las entradas oficiales, esta fuera del recinto. Por otro lado, la audio guía está bien es bastante corta pero si que es verdad que dentro al no haber buena cobertura a veces no sabes dónde estás en el mapa y vas perdido con las explicaciones. A la llegada de recoger nuestras entradas nos recomendaron comprar también un libro con las explicaciones y la aplicación mejor detallada pero dado que las entradas ya son más caras comprándolas aquí nos pareció bastante abuso. Nuestra recomendación, compradlas directamente en la página de Pompeya, es más económico y la audio guía seguro que viene con los números que salen en los carteles de dentro. Esta bien, nos saco del paso porque íbamos perdidos.

What to bring

Carry your earphones for an immersive audio guide experience. If you are given a physical audio guide, ensure you arrive prepared with wired earphones (3.5mm jack).

A moderate amount of walking is involved in this activity. Please wear comfortable shoes due to uneven terrain.

Full names are mandatory for Pompeii bookings. Double-check the names at checkout for a hassle-free entry. Be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Big dogs (above the weight 10kg and the height of 40cm) are not allowed into the venue. Guide dogs with the proper certification are welcome.

Accessibility

Pompeii has uneven ground and limited wheelchair access. Use the south-side entrances instead of the main one.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Tickets to the ruins are free of charge for disabled people and a companion, to be purchased directly on-site.

Additional information

Whether you will be allotted a digital pr physical audio guide will be communicated at the time of booking. You can decide what kind of earphones to bring accordingly.

If you're handed a physical audio guide, you must leave a personal document like a passport as security at the supplier's office before collecting the guide. After your tour, you must drop off the headsets and your document will be returned to you.

Facilities: cloakroom, luggage storage. Head to the Superiore Entrance to make use of the onsite luggage facilities.

The fee for the excavation sites of Pompeii is free for all first Sundays of the month.

Children under 18 enjoy free entry with a valid ID.

If you’re an EU citizen aged 18-24, you can avail the ticket at €2.

The same discount applies if you’re a non-EU citizen with a valid Italian residence permit (for study, work, family reasons, etc., as recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
