We had a fantastic guidertour at Pompeii. A special thanks goes to our guide, Mr. Igor, who made the tour both engaging and informative. His knowledge of Pompeii’s history was impressive, and he had a great way of explaining things so that even our son(13yrs) could easily follow and stay interested. He brought the ancient city to life with fascinating stories, details, and insights that we would have completely missed on our own. Mr. Igor was also very friendly, patient, and attentive, making sure everyone in the group was comfortable and involved. The pace of the tour was perfect—not rushed, but still covering all the key highlights. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience for all three of us. We highly recommend this guided tour, especially with Mr. Igor, to anyone visiting Pompeii

Clear instructions to get to the gate. Helpful guides on arrival providing a map and useful information. Amazing place to visit! Unfortunately the audio guide wasn't good at all as the signal for internet was extremely poor.

Todo fue bastante bien pero nos hubiera gustado recibir más información sobre la distancia que había desde la estación hasta el puneto de encuentro para evitar estres innecesario. Además nos hubiera gustado continuar la visita hasta el cierre del parque pero tuvimos que salir a devolver las audioguías, no volvería a usar estas audioguías en el futuro con estas condiciones, deberían estar disponibles durante todo el tiempo.

The guide was both extremely knowledgable and entertaining. Clearly he was an actual or wannabe actor. Some of his shtick was a bit over the top, but it was welcome on a very grey day. I thought the tour was well paced, and left me with the basic knowledge of the ruins, which is all you can expect in a 2 hour tour

I was worried that me and my friend could be denied entry to Pompeii because of the limitation on a number of daily visitors allowed in the grounds. As we entered from the Pompeii train station, we were directed to a room where we waited for our guide. It was all done smoothly and we had a great day.

Amazing trip the site is so large you can't possibly get the best out of it without a guide unless you are a regular visitor or a serious history scholar. Our guide spoke clearly , with humour and a great knowledge of the city. I would highly recommend the tour, it iwas definitely value for money.

When we found the ticket office, which is a 20 minute walk from the station, we were told that the audio guide would not work as there is no WiFi . This means we should buy a book for 16 euro

Even though I paid for a guided tour, I had to go all the way to Via Roma 32 just to get the tickets, and they asked us to pay extra for the audio guide. What a bad experience!

What to bring

Carry your earphones for an immersive audio guide experience. If you are given a physical audio guide, ensure you arrive prepared with wired earphones (3.5mm jack).

A moderate amount of walking is involved in this activity. Please wear comfortable shoes due to uneven terrain.

Full names are mandatory for Pompeii bookings. Double-check the names at checkout for a hassle-free entry. Be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Big dogs (above the weight 10kg and the height of 40cm) are not allowed into the venue. Guide dogs with the proper certification are welcome.

Accessibility

Pompeii has uneven ground and limited wheelchair access. Use the south-side entrances instead of the main one.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Tickets to the ruins are free of charge for disabled people and a companion, to be purchased directly on-site.

Additional information

Whether you will be allotted a digital pr physical audio guide will be communicated at the time of booking. You can decide what kind of earphones to bring accordingly.

If you're handed a physical audio guide, you must leave a personal document like a passport as security at the supplier's office before collecting the guide. After your tour, you must drop off the headsets and your document will be returned to you.

Facilities: cloakroom, luggage storage. Head to the Superiore Entrance to make use of the onsite luggage facilities.

The fee for the excavation sites of Pompeii is free for all first Sundays of the month.

Children under 18 enjoy free entry with a valid ID.

If you’re an EU citizen aged 18-24, you can avail the ticket at €2.

The same discount applies if you’re a non-EU citizen with a valid Italian residence permit (for study, work, family reasons, etc., as recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the starting point.
