Very well done! My wife and I booked this tour as part of our 50th Anniversary trip through Italy. For this event we took the train from Sorrento to Pompeii (easy and inexpensive) and we all met together at the Tour office, which is on the 2nd floor of the train station where you arrive in Pompeii - so easy. Next, we met the tour guide and received our instructions and listening devices and walked a short distance to the entry gate. We went right through a dedicated gate (truly jumped the line) and into the site. Our guide took us on a very interesting and fact filled trek through Pompeii that ultimately finished with the most fascinating sights and restorations you could imagine. Pompeii is huge and attempting to self guide would undoubtedly be an impossible task... There's just too much to see and much is repetitive if you walk around trying to figure it out yourself! Using the Headout App and Landmarks Tours was a truly simple and enjoyable experience for me an my wife.

Visite très intéressante de Pompéi, nous avons adoré. Nous avons pris les billets Pompéi Plus donnant accès à plus de lieux sur le site archéologique, dont la villa des mystères. Seul petit regret de notre côté, nous n'avons pas pu tout voir en une demi-journée, il faut vraiment prévoir une journée pour faire toute la visite du site archéologique.

Pompeii was absolutely amazing!! We ended up upgrading our tour from the self audio guide to a 2-hr guided tour. THAT is the way to go. Stella was a fabulous guide. She covered the major points of interest and then you can wander on your own. You can't see it all in one day. It's an amazing place.

Visitar Pompeia é uma experiência marcante. O sítio é extremamente interessante do ponto de vista histórico e permite perceber se forma verídica como era a vida quotidiana real naquela época romana. Uma paragem obrigatória para quem visita Nápoles.

Service de billet mal organisé, il a fallu aller chercher nos billets et une fois l'entrée, il a fallu quand même aller à la billetterie. Guide n'était pas facile, c'était trop compliqué alors je ne recommande pas du tout je ne suis pas satisfait.

I pre-purchased tickets to Pompeii using Headout, and overall the service was great—easy to use and reliable. However, there’s one important detail that could be improved. The ticket collection information online is slightly misleading. It mentions a temporary collection point, but in reality, there isn’t one. Tickets are actually collected from a permanent information point located a few steps further down the street. This should definitely be clarified on the website to avoid confusion. That said, I had a positive experience thanks to the staff. While I was trying to call Headout to locate the temporary station, a representative from the “info” point approached me. He was friendly and helpful, and he directed me to the correct store. Inside, the staff were also very welcoming and efficient. The location itself is very convenient. Although it’s about a 15–20 minute walk from the train station and the main Pompeii entrance, it’s an easy and pleasant walk. More importantly, it’s worth it because there’s a secondary entrance right next to the info point, which is much less crowded than the main entrance. After collecting your tickets, you can enter Pompeii almost immediately and skip the long queues. Overall, a very positive experience with just a small but important note for improvement.

Beide Standorte sind faszinierend und man sollte viel Zeit einplanen um sie zu besuchen. Herculaneum reichen 2-3 Stunden, für Pompeii einen ganzen Tag (6 Stunden)! Man kann dort überall Wasser auffüllen kostenfrei und die Bistro und Kaffeepreise sind erstaunlich günstig. Festes Schuhwerk. Und es ist wirklich NICHT für Fusslahme, Kinderwagen, Babys, Kleinkinder und Rollstuhlfahrer geeignet. Nachteile: die Tickets sind an einen bestimmten Eingang gebunden und man muss vorher nochmal in ein Touri Info Spot um sie in gedruckter Form zu bekommen. Dort kann man auch hervorragende passende Guides Bücher und Karten bekommen für Pompeii, kostet natürlich alles extra. Und viel zu wenig Toiletten in desolaten Zuständen.

NO fue especial. No hay en las ruinas una indicación clara del mejor orden a seguir. Eso hace que el recorrido sea desordenado, te pierdas cosas por distancia, te cansas innecesariamente. La señal es muy mala en el lugar lo que dificulta bajar la app y luego los contenidos. No fuimos informados de los extras que tenía nuestra entrada plus, no existía el bus de traslado ofrecido. Como salí a preguntar por los extras en informes no me dejaron volver a ingresar. Fue una experiencia bastante pobre, por no decir mala

What to bring

Carry your earphones for an immersive audio guide experience. If you are given a physical audio guide, ensure you arrive prepared with wired earphones (3.5mm jack).

A moderate amount of walking is involved in this activity. Please wear comfortable shoes due to uneven terrain.

Full names are mandatory for Pompeii bookings. Double-check the names at checkout for a hassle-free entry. Be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: No discourteous clothing or shirtless attire is allowed inside Pompeii Archaeological Park.

Big dogs (above the weight 10kg and the height of 40cm) are not allowed into the venue. Guide dogs with the proper certification are welcome.

Accessibility

Pompeii has uneven ground and limited wheelchair access. Use the south-side entrances instead of the main one.

Choose safety and comfort: This experience is not the best fit for people with impaired mobility and cardiac issues.

Tickets to the ruins are free of charge for disabled people and a companion, to be purchased directly on-site.

Additional information

Whether you will be allotted a digital pr physical audio guide will be communicated at the time of booking. You can decide what kind of earphones to bring accordingly.

If you're handed a physical audio guide, you must leave a personal document like a passport as security at the supplier's office before collecting the guide. After your tour, you must drop off the headsets and your document will be returned to you.

Facilities: cloakroom, luggage storage. Head to the Superiore Entrance to make use of the onsite luggage facilities.

The fee for the excavation sites of Pompeii is free for all first Sundays of the month.

Children under 18 enjoy free entry with a valid ID.

If you’re an EU citizen aged 18-24, you can avail the ticket at €2.

The same discount applies if you’re a non-EU citizen with a valid Italian residence permit (for study, work, family reasons, etc., as recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
