It was nice that the tour began at the Hippodrome, by the Egyptian obelisk, allowing us to be gradually introduced to the story of what it was like—the relationship between the common people and His Majesty. Topkapi Palace is magnificent; a full tour can take over six hours. The guide, Hal, was interesting and full of stories.

Our guide Husain was lovely, he genuinely seemed excited about what he was showing us, the highlight for me was the basilica cistern, unfortunately the Hagia Sophia was under construction.

Zeynep our guide was fantastic!!! She has enthusiasm and passion that comes through in her showing off her country's culture. We highly recommend this guide and the whirling dervish ceremony is a spiritual journey that makes me want to delve more into the history and to read Rumi. The food at the historic restaurant was awesome! Loved it all!!
