Stonehenge was an inspirational and unique moment in our holiday - a sight not to be missed if the opportunity arises. Timed tickets through Headout allowed early attendance when there were minimal crowds, for both best photos and crowd management along with carpark access, all of which became far busier by the time we left, surely diminishing the experience.

Visiting Stonehenge was truly a “pinch me” moment—one of those places you dream about seeing for years, and it absolutely lives up to the anticipation. The site is iconic and quietly breathtaking, with a sense of history and mystery that’s hard to put into words. Standing there, taking it all in, felt like stepping into something timeless. The experience is very well organized. You park at the visitor center, and from there, convenient shuttles run every few minutes to take you out to the stones. It’s seamless and flexible—you can spend as much or as little time exploring as you’d like without feeling rushed. Once you arrive, you’re able to get surprisingly close to the stones, making it easy to appreciate their scale and detail. It also makes for some incredible photos—the kind you’ll look back on and remember exactly how it felt to be there. All in all, it’s one for the books. If it’s been on your bucket list, it’s absolutely worth the visit.

Follow the paths around Stonehenge, then explore the visitor centre exhibits and step inside Neolithic houses built using ancient construction methods.

Step into Salisbury Cathedral and walk through high vaulted spaces, then enter the Chapter House to see the Magna Carta displayed in a quiet room.

Discover quiet cloister corridors, step into open green spaces, then pass through the Works Yard where scaffolding and repair work can be seen.

Evet StoneHenge çok güzel büyüleyici bir yer, fakat tesis olarak vasatın altında hatta kötü diyebileceğim bir biçimde karşılama var. Bizler Londra'nın çok sıcak olduğu bir günde gittik ve dışarısı 40 derece, tuvaletteki sular 50 dereceydi. Bu denli yağmur yağan bir memlekette otoparkın üzeri en azından basit bir şekilde kapatılabilirdi ve bizim içinde güneşten korunma şansı olurdu ( arabaya gittiğimizde içi 80 dereceydi. En büyüğü ise transfer otobüslerinde tek havalandırma cam olduğundan, içleri çok sıcak ve havasızdı.

La visita è stata molto bella e l'audio guida è comoda, puoi decidere che punti approfondire e cosa eventualmente saltare. Forse aggiornerei l'app perché in alcuni telefoni non si poteva bloccare il telefono o uscire dall'app per fare le foto perché si bloccava e bisogna rientrare nel punto lasciato.

What to expect

Stonehenge

Out in open countryside, the stone circle comes into view gradually, rising from flat grasslands with nothing around it to break the horizon.

Features:

Walk around the stone circle: Follow the pathways that circle the monument, where each stone stands tall and spaced apart, letting you view the structure clearly from different angles.

Neolithic houses and visitor centre: Step into reconstructed Neolithic houses and visit the exhibition space, where tools, objects, and displays help you picture daily life thousands of years ago.

Open landscape setting: Take in the wide, uninterrupted surroundings, where the monument sits alone against the sky, making its scale and placement easier to notice.

Salisbury Cathedral

Enter a vast stone interior where long aisles, high ceilings, and filtered light create a calm space that feels very different from the open landscape of Stonehenge.

Features:

Cathedral interiors and cloisters: Walk through the nave and quiet cloisters, then step into the open Close where the full cathedral and its tall spire can be seen clearly.

Chapter House and Magna Carta: Enter the Chapter House, a circular room with carved stone details, where the 1215 Magna Carta is displayed in a softly lit, enclosed setting.

Works Yard route: Follow a one way visitor path through the Works Yard, where sections of the cathedral are being repaired, with scaffolding and stonework visible along the way.

Stonehenge

English Heritage and National Trust England members can enjoy free admission to Stonehenge.

You will not be allowed to enter the Stonehenge Circle itself. This is due to the restoration attempts and the relative instability of the structure. Your Stonehenge tickets allow you to access about 10 meters of the monument.

Salisbury Cathedral

Available facilities: Paid parking spaces, changing places and toilets

The Chapter House, Restaurant and Shop are all closed on 25th December.

Daily services take place throughout the year, and while you are welcome to attend, access to certain areas of the Cathedral may be limited during these times.

Train seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis and are not guaranteed together.

Train times can fluctuate, so you must refer to your train e-tickets for exact departure times.

The bus transfer between Salisbury Rail Station and Stonehenge is not included and is available at your own expense.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled train departure time.

Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.
