Tour starts early at about 7:15h. It takes about 1.5 h to pass a Souvenir Shop, the gates and the security check. The guide took good care of the group so nobody got lost. He managed to navigate us to some great seats in the right block in the very front, close to the drive way of the Papamobil, so we could see the Pope from very close distance. The Guide left at about 8:30h with some tips what to do after the audience. Be aware of interesting(!) timing: The audience ended shortly after 11 a.m. , not like mentioned on the tickets at 10h. So allow plenty plenty of time between your activities, to avoid missing a following tour (make sure you understand the no-refund policy)!!!

Rudi guided us very well. He always say “Follow me, follow me.” and we could do so. Our seat was very close to the way papa mobil went through. I was satisfied! Regarding to the meeting point, provided map was wrong. It showed opposite side of the street. But the staff managed it without trouble. I recommend this tour to all of visitors who is available on Wednesday morning. If not, the que should be very long and you have to wait for the security check for long time. Thank you.

Der Guide war sehr informativ und lustig. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt mit der Tour. Trotz der Tatsache, dass bereits sehr viele Menschen unterwegs waren, haben wir mit Hilfe des Guides super Plätze sehr weit vorne bekommen, von wo aus wir den Papst sowohl auf dem Papa Mobil als auch während der Audienz sehr gut sehen konnten. Können es nur weiterempfehlen! :)

Andrea was an excellent guide, adding information, being organized to ourselves and others in the crowd of 20,000 at the Vatican seeing the pope. We learned much and had a really good time. He exceeded our expectation in every way. I,would recommend him to all.

Getting started

Meet your guide near St. Peter’s Square early in the morning. Your guide will collect the pre-booked audience tickets and escort you through the entrance to secure a good viewing spot. A headset will be provided so you can clearly hear commentary throughout the experience.

Papal Audience Ceremony
