We thoroughly enjoyed the all inclusive pass and visiting the cathedral. Expect people to cut in line and be pushy in the cathedral, so spending the extra money allows you access to less crowded parts of the cathedral complex. Upon arrival in the Cathedral, get in line for the Library, so you can enjoy the architecture while you are in line.

The kindness initially of the ticket salesperson to allow us early entry due to my new hip - & from there to the stunning black/white columns, the side chapels w/glorius beautiful paintings, to the altar , size of pipe organ, & finally the paintings - absolutely stunning! Probably one of the most beautiful church tiled floors I've every seen! A joy to visit!

Absolut empfehlenswert ist der Audioguide!!! Umständlich ist es, dass man die Tickets nicht online bekommt, sondern an der Touriinfo weiter weg abholen muss. Unglaublich prunkvolle Kirche, ein Besuch lohnt sich!!!

La cathédrale est magnifique et la bibliothèque est magique. Horaire de réservation pas conforme à ce qui était prévu. La réservation était prévue pour 10h30 et lors du retrait des billets c'était 13h30.

Siena Cathedral

One of Italy’s greatest Gothic masterpieces, the Duomo enchants visitors with its soaring arches, ornate chapels, and dazzling black-and-white marble design. On select dates, the intricate mosaic floors are uncovered, revealing scenes crafted with extraordinary detail and artistry.

Piccolomini library: Step into a Renaissance jewel situated within the cathedral, where Pinturicchio’s frescoes bring the life of Pope Pius II vividly to the walls.

Cathedral complex: Enhance your visit with the OPA SI PASS, a 3-day ticket including the Baptistery, Crypt, Museo dell’Opera, Facciatone viewpoint, and the Oratory of San Bernardino.

What to bring

Make sure to bring a valid photo ID that matches your booking.

Wear comfy shoes as you’ll be walking and standing a fair bit while exploring.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, suitcases, or oversized luggage aren’t allowed inside the cathedral or complex.

Pets aren’t permitted, except for registered service animals.

Flash photography, tripods, and filming equipment aren’t allowed inside the cathedral or library.

Accessibility

Some areas of the cathedral complex, like the Facciatone viewpoint and certain historic sections, may not be accessible to wheelchair users or visitors with limited mobility.

Redeem your voucher for an entry ticket at the official ticket office at Cripta del Duomo di Siena before entering.

The last entry to Siena Cathedral is 30 minutes before closing.

Opening times can vary due to liturgical activities. Please check the timings page for daily schedule.

Tickets are valid only on the booked date. The OPA SI PASS is valid for three consecutive days from purchase.

The Oratory of San Bernardino is open only from April to October.

The Duomo’s marble floor is visible only during certain periods of the year.

Instructions for accessing the digital audio guide are provided on your entry ticket.

Children under 6 enter free but must be accompanied by an adult and still require a booked ticket.
