Had such a great experience at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium! The booking process through Headout was super easy and straightforward, and our tickets worked perfectly with no issues at entry. The aquarium itself was amazing so many beautiful marine animals and the underwater tunnel was definitely a highlight. Everything was well organised, clean, and enjoyable from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend for a fun day out in Melbourne!

LOVE it was so good always 10/10 recommend pre buying tickets makes it way quicker to get in. Also these tickets were $20 cheaper than buying them at the door xx

The whole experience was amazing, the staff is also beautiful. We enjoyed and learnt more about marine animals oh my God i never knew there could be so may fishes. Also loved the environment its so clean and my little one was having a ball. Thank you so much it waa such a beautiful day with a lovely experience. I was also happy with the staff at the virtual reality experience she is such a beautiful human being and made the whole experience amazing, she takes her time explaining and make sure you will be satisfied. Such a well looked after place, so peaceful and perfect for both adults and little kids. Thank you will definitely visit again with bub!

The penguins look depressed. they are all standing cramped in their cage. The swimming area wasn't open and some were pacing back and forth which isn't good for animals in captivity.

Honestly the Aquarium was pretty small than I imagine. The staff is super friendly. People are nice. But its so small. I expected more. This is my expierience. No harsh feelings. Aprreciate the effort the staff put. The 3 stars is just because its small

It was a busy day being Sunday but the layout allowed for an enjoyable experience where you could go at your own pace. Great day out

Getting started

Enter via the main entrance on King Street and scan your mobile ticket—no printouts needed. Bags may be inspected at security. Lockers are available near the entrance. The venue is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

What to expect

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium: This multi-level aquarium on the Yarra River brings you face-to-face with creatures from Southern Ocean depths to sub-Antarctic snowfields.

Features

Glass tunnel oceanarium: Walk through a giant ocean tunnel surrounded by sharks, rays, and hundreds of reef fish.

Croc Lair encounter: Meet Pinjarra, one of the world’s largest Saltwater Crocodiles, up close.

Penguin Playground: Watch King and Gentoo penguins slide across real snow and dive into icy water.

Wonder Wall: Use motion to stir up bubbles and meet digital clownfish and seahorses.

Rocky Shores rockpool zone: Get up close with tiny but mighty marine creatures, from clever decorator crabs to spiky sea stars, and see how they survive along the shore.

What to bring

Footwear and shirts must be worn at all times.

For the Penguin Passport experience, wear/bring socks. Failure to do so may result in the tour being cancelled.

What's not allowed

Smoking and drinking are not allowed inside the aquarium.

Due to venue restrictions, pets, except guide dogs, cannot tag along for this experience.

It is prohibited to bring any weapons, fireworks, smoke bombs, glass bottles, or other articles which may cause injury.

The climbing of or standing upon railings, barriers, or structures is strictly prohibited.

For the Penguin Passport experience, guests must not come into contact with birds 24 hours prior.

No jewellery, watches, mobile phones or cameras can be taken on the Penguin Passport experience.

Accessibility

This experience is accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers, however the Penguin Passport experience is not wheelchair accessible.

For the Penguin Passport experience, guests with flu, cold, gastro/respiration infection within 48 hours of their experience must contact the venue and reschedule their visit.

The venue welcomes all assistance animals and guide dogs.

Additional information

Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a paying adult aged 18 years and above.
