Giverny is beautiful, and the village and museum are worth a visit - indeed, we chanced about a free piano concert by a world-class pianist in the village church, and a great ehibition of Monet's work other than waterlilies in the gallery! We took the tour mainly to avoid the hassle of queueing, and seeing the massive line of people waiting for entry, on a sweltering hot day, we were very relieved that we did. We did not take a guided tour, wanting to wander at our own pace. We ifnormed the tour guide that we ould probably not take the return coach trip, and she was impressively understanding, helpfully offering for us to make a later return back if we desired! In fact we walked down the bike track into town, stopped for a cold drink en route, and caught a train back. A great day out!

Dopo un inizio difficile (1 1/2 di attesa) e il Bus con posti stretti, La visita è andata bene e la guida sul bus brava e preparata . Abbiamo avuto tempo per visitare bene i giardini nonostante il ritardo. E il bus al rientro era su due piani.

The gardens were beautiful in April and the bus was comfortable. I wouldn't pay for the guided tour again - we really didn't get useful info from it other than the correct pronunciation of the city about 10 times (LOL).

We were able to visit Monet's garden and home, albeit it rushed and crowded. The guide was not helpful, had minimal useful commentary in the garden and was impatient with everyone. His reply to a visitor who could not access Wifi was "Je m'en fou", said into his microphone so all could hear. Be sermed to forget his microphone was on when clearing his throat or coughing... The gardens eere beautiful, the crowds while manaegable were pretty significant, the tour was rushed and the guide, whatever his name was, needs to find a job he actually likes doing.
