The circular layout of the Ocenarium around the main tank symbolizing "One Ocean" is a great idea. I've never seen anything like this anywhere else. I've never seen Sea Dragons anywhere else either. Instead of separating every part of the world, I felt that we are all connected by the same body of water thus sharing the same connection and the same responsibility to protect this precious liquid that give birth to life millions of years ago.

Die Anlage des Ozeanario war schon sehr beeindruckend, von der Größe und Vielfahrt der Tiere die da zusammenleben. Friedlich. Die Anlage super gepflegt. Ja die Seilbahn auch schön, wir haben sie benutzt um näher an die Brücke zu kommen.

O que mais gostei no Oceanário de Lisboa foi a forma como o espaço nos faz sentir dentro do oceano, rodeados por diferentes espécies marinhas num ambiente calmo e fascinante. O aquário central chamou especialmente a minha atenção pela sua grandiosidade e pela diversidade de animais, como os tubarões, as raias e o peixe-lua. Também gostei muito da organização do percurso, que permite conhecer habitats de vários oceanos do mundo de uma forma educativa e envolvente. Foi uma experiência inesquecível para mim, foi uma experiência enriquecedora, tanto pela diversão como pela aprendizagem sobre a importância da preservação dos oceanos.

One of the best aquariums I’ve been to, easily. The central tank is insane - massive, crystal clear, and you keep coming back to it from different angles, spotting something new every time. What makes it stand out is how well it’s designed. It flows properly, never feels crowded or chaotic, and each ecosystem is done with real detail - from the colder environments to the tropical sections. Everything feels premium, clean, and actually relaxing to walk through. Not rushed, not gimmicky, just done right. If you’re in Lisbon, don’t overthink it - this is 100% worth doing.

O que eu mais gostei foi da combinação entre a vista incrível do teleférico sobre o rio e a experiência imersiva no aquário. Ver Lisboa do alto, com a Ponte Vasco da Gama ao fundo e o céu completamente azul, já tinha sido especial, mas o momento mais marcante foi ver meu filho encantado observando os peixes e a vida marinha tão de perto. A experiência foi muito bem organizada, tranquila e cheia de momentos lindos para guardar na memória. As atrações são modernas, limpas e perfeitas para famílias. Com certeza foi um dos pontos altos da nossa viagem a Lisboa.

Find your way to the main entrance at the Oceanário where your tickets will be validated. After a quick security check, you'll be able to explore all the exhibits at your own pace, soaking in the wonders of our underwater ecosystems.

What to expect

As one of Lisbon’s largest attractions, the Oceanário houses over 15,000 marine creatures in habitats that recreate diverse ocean ecosystems. You get to discover over 500 unique species across four major oceanic zones.

Central Ocean Tank: Holding about 5 million litres of water, this tank is an explosion of colour and life, with creatures like shark, cuttlefish, manta rays, and more, swimming all around you.

Global habitats: Explore recreated environments from four major oceanic zones - the North Atlantic Rocky Coast, Antarctic Coastline, Pacific Kelp Forest, and Tropical Indian Ocean.

Artistic displays: See Takashi Amano’s underwater rainforest, blending art and nature in a single exhibit.

Conservation focus: Learn about the Oceanário’s commitment to conservation through engaging displays and educational content.

Telecabine Cable Car

Getting started

Arrive at the North Station or the South Station and present your tickets and official ID. Once your tickets are validated, you will be assigned a cable car for your ride.

What to expect

Lisbon’s only cable car, the Telecabine, inaugurated for the 1998 International Exposition, offers a unique aerial journey. Glide across 1,230 meters between the North and South Stations, taking in panoramic views of the city, the Tagus River, and several iconic landmarks.

Features

360-degree city views: See the Tagus River, Vasco da Gama Bridge (Europe’s second-longest), and the Portugal Pavilion from above.

30-meters above ground: At a height of 30 meters above the ground, you get to soak in all of Lisbon's cityscape on a magical ride.

What to bring

Bring a valid photo ID to match the name on your booking if requested at the entrance.

Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking through large exhibition areas.

What’s not allowed

Pets, including guide dogs, are not permitted inside the Oceanário.

Weapons or sharp objects are strictly prohibited.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises.

Alcohol and drugs are not permitted inside the facility.

Accessibility

The Oceanário de Lisboa is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and elevators available throughout the building.

Accessible restrooms are available on site.

Additional information

Your tickets are valid for a single entry at the time and day you choose for your visit.

The time you select is for entry to the premises, and does not limit your time spent exploring the exhibitions.

The Antarctic habitat is temporarily closed for renovation; penguins are expected to return in 2025.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled entry or tour time.

Guided tours and educational activities for schools, families, and organized groups must be pre-booked beforehand.

Smoking or consuming alcohol is prohibited within the cabins.

Eating and drinking (except water) is strictly prohibited inside the cabins.

Oscillating the cabins while seated is strictly prohibited.

Unfortunately, your pets cannot accompany you on this experience, with the exception of guide dogs.

Accessibility

There are wheelchair accessible cabins for those with limited mobility.

Guide dogs are allowed inside the cabins.

Tip: Choose a slot at sunset - the cable car ride at this hour beautifully captures the evening sun over Lisbon's coastline and cityscape.

Children under the age of 13 must always be accompanied by an adult.
