We loved the whole trip. Gerda was a great tour guide. The story of Ludwig II. is so interesting and fascinating. Making this day trip with "Mentor Reisen" was great. We can absolutely recommend this Company. Unfortunately I booked our tickets with Headout and not with Mentor Reisen. Headout booked the ticket amount of 423¢ twice on my creditcard which really upsets me meanwhile. They are not really supporting me with this issue and didn t offer any help.

Both of the castles were beautiful and well woth seeing! Pedro, our guide for the day, did THE BEST job of letting us know what to expect and how best to do things. I can't think of anything that he could have done better! Our bus driver really did an impressive job especially maneuvering the bus on the twists & turns & small town streets. I would highly recommend using this company for this tour!

We booked this tour at the last minute because tickets to the castle were sold out and there were no other tour options available. The head out team could not have been kinder and more helpful in terms of accommodating all of my questions and concerns. And the tour guide Stephen was extremely kind and knowledgeable. It was a happy accident that we ended up with this tour- and we learned a ton too!

You are not allowed to drive up to the castle in a personal car.

Accessibility

Neuschwanstein Castle offers an elevator for wheelchair access. To ensure availability, we recommend you reserve it in advance.

The hiking trail to the castle is paved and partly very steep. It's best to use the horse carriage transport where any regular-sized, foldable wheelchair can be stowed in the trunk of the carriage. Please note that the carriages do not have a ramp.
