As a tourist and first time user of the train ticketing system, I found the process of prepurchase with a QR code confusing as where to redeem it it to a paper ticket in the terminal. It seemed counterintuitive to have a mobile QR code that was not viable as a ticket to scan at one of the ticket dispenser machines or to gain access at an entry gate. However, once I was directed across the large and very busy hall of the station from the ticket purchase area to the redeem ticket area I retrieved my ticket. As a person using Google Translate to read signs etc, I was confused as to which train to board with my reservation seat. I boarded the incorrect train going to the same destination that departed 12 minutes ahead of my time but was able to pay the fare difference onboard.

I bought a one ticket on line before teaching the nipori station. I don't know if it was necessary as I had to exchange it once arrived there. Then, very easy to walk to the platform (30s walk). The Skyline stops right at the terminal, very convenient. The only trick was to buy an extra ticket besides the metro one

my experience on the keisei skyliner both to and from narita was flawless and comfortable! i flew 12 hours from vienna to narita. after such a long flight, the staff at the keisei ticket counter were so helpful. they explained every station and transfer points. they also helped me decide about discount subway tickets. the ride was quiet and comfortable and stops were clearly announced. i got to oji station with no stress. on the way back to narita i was able to take a keisei mainliner and was at the airport in 50 minutes! a pleasure to use this sevice. thank you.

Sehr einfach zu finden Keisei Ueno zum umtauschen der E-Tickets in normale Papiertickets. Der Zug fährt alle 20 Minuten zum Flughafen Narita bzw. von Narita nach Tokyo City. Sehr guter Preis für die Zugfahrt ca. 14 Euro, viel Platz so das man die Koffer zum Sitzplatz mitnehmen kann.

Booking online with headout made it all very easy, and all I had to do was collect the tickets at the very clearly marked office. Using the Skyliner was easy and very convenient and goes straight from the Airport to Ueno train station.

Great, very well organised. Only problem was I initially bought tickets through a service called Headout, which failed to send the tickets, so I had to buy again at the station. Definitely avoid using Headout!

The ride was smooth. I do feel that the process of getting the tickets is a bit frustrating - even if you buy ahead of time online, you still have to go to the counter to have the ticket printed/activated.
