Getting started

Meet your pilot at Aoraki Mount Cook Airport, with hotel transfers included. After a safety briefing, board your selected helicopter or ski plane and put on your radio headset to hear commentary throughout the flight.

What to expect

• Fly across the Southern Alps: Take off over the mountains before crossing the Main Divide toward the West Coast. Look out for the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers before continuing along the Tasman Sea.

• See Mount Cook's alpine landscape: Fly over Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park and the Tasman Valley, with views of Mount Tasman, Mount Sefton, the Hochstetter Icefall, Grand Plateau, and Tasman Terminal Lake.

• Make two snow landings: Touch down on two remote glaciers, which may include Fox, Franz Josef, or Tasman Glacier depending on conditions. Step onto the snow and take in the surrounding mountains while the aircraft shuts down.

• Fly by helicopter or ski plane: Choose your preferred aircraft for the 1-hour experience, with both options following the same glacier-focused route.

• Return with hotel transfers: After your flight, return to Aoraki Mount Cook Airport before being dropped back at your accommodation.
