Arriving a few hours before closing gives you ample time to explore, as the last entry is one hour before closing, and seeing the highlights takes at least 2-3 hours.
What to expect
Start by prioritizing must-see works like the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, or the Winged Victory of Samothrace, as shorter lines and fewer crowds make for a more enjoyable viewing experience. The evening lighting casts a different mood over the artwork, creating a unique perspective compared to daytime visits. Please make sure to join the yellow queue - this is meant for visitors with fixed-entry online tickets. Look out for the “avec billets” ("with tickets") sign.
