headout is a great app, got me the tickets and kept mr notified, and the tickets were easily accessible in my email. Locations were clearly marked for gaining access to the mountaintop, we took a tuktuk up to the entrance of the castle trail. One thing that the park officials need to do is improve the signage in the area. There is literally not one single sign between the base of the Moorish trails to tell you how to get back down to Sintra. Once in Sintra, no signs for the Quinta de Regaleira! Fortunately we just kept following Google walking maps and got there. Got out my email from from headout and boom there's the tickets. Quinta de Regaleira was amazing and beautiful.

Moorish Castle was absolutely amazing! I'm always blown away by the way they built complicated buildings without the technology that we have now! Prepare to climb up and down stairs. I believe we ended up with more than 20,000 steps the day we visited Sintra including the Moorish castle, Pena Palace and National Palace of Sintra. Mind blown!! 🤯

A unique, well maintained historical site. The grounds are well preserved and the fee is very reasonable. Highly recommend visiting if you're in the Lisbon area.

Really cool views looking down on Sintra and Lisbon along the outer walls. You can even see Pena Palace from a few points along the way. Just keep in mind there are lots of stairs and it's very windy at the top!

Due to a sporting event, we coursing make it in time so we weren't allowed into the palace but did get to enter the park. The Moorish castle was spectacular! Sintra was a great town.

To order tickets for a tour of Pena Palace & Moorish Castle. The gardens walking up to the palace are beautiful! We loved the unique charming & colourful palace. The views from the top of the palace are awesome. We liked the gift store where we bought a souvenir book. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the Moorish Castle, but had a gret view of it from the palace.

One of the most unique and beautiful places I've ever been fortunate to visit. Surrounded by acres of beautiful gardens and forests, the palace is a incredible mixture of historical interest, spectacular views and eye popping colour and design

What to bring

Pet dogs are welcome at the castle. Make sure to read these guidelines before bringing your pet dog along.

What’s not allowed

Flash photography, tripods, and filming equipment are not allowed inside the exhibition spaces.

The experience is not fully wheelchair accessible due to uneven terrain and historic structures.

Certain areas of the castle are wheelchair accessible. These include the inner portions of the castle, the Moorish Castle Church, the store, and the cafeteria.

There is parking for disabled persons.

The audio tour is compatible only with Android (version 5.0 and later) and iOS (version 15.0 and later) smartphones. Private parking is otherwise not available. We’d recommend parking at the historic center of Sintra and relying on public transportation to reach the castle.
