Amazing tour at the movie set, thanks very much to the Hobbiton team for all their hard work and passion for the place. They shared many great stories and inside info which was very enjoyable to hear. The Cheeky Kiwi transport was excellent. Pick up straight from the hotel and our driver (Grant) was very funny and made the whole experience smooth and seamless.

The tour guides were most informative. The Bus Driver Rachel with lots of information about NZ on the way to Hobbiton. James the Hobbiton tour guide was entertaining and informative, lots of fun.

Grant is the best tour guide ever. He has tons of info and wonderful stories about NZ. This is a must tour. Just don't forget to do the tour with Grant!!!

Everything went well. Beautiful sunny day, David the bus driver was careful and punctual, and had a good repertoire of jokes and interesting anecdotes. Hobbiton was good fun, and I've always wanted to see it. Our guide, Mira, was ideal and informative. She had a lovely personality and a good clear voice. The cider and food were very good too. Thank you, David and Mira The booking process was difficult and I'll give feedback to Headout

The driver, Ark was awesome! He gave us so many fun facts during the way there and back, and did a LoTR quiz as well, whin I won because no one but me knew the Elvish name for Rivendell (it's Imladris btw). All in all it was an amazing experience!

Welcome to the Shire

If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, then visiting the Hobbiton movie set is a must. Hop on your comfortable ride from Auckland and journey to the magical world of Hobbiton. On the way, spot the lush trees dotting the Waikato river and the Kaimai Ranges standing tall. Once you reach, you will get on a short bus with your Hobbiton guide and be taken to the set.

A magical world awaits you

Once you reach the set, your guide will escort you on a shared walking tour around the movie set. See the beautiful gardens, and the 44 Hobbit holes lining the hillside before arriving at Bagshot Row to peek inside the humble home of a Hobbit. As you tour the set, listen to your guide tell you interesting details about how the set was made and show you famous locations used in the movies. End your tour at the Green Dragon Inn where you will enjoy a complimentary beverage from their Southfarthing Range, exclusively made on the set.
