Please note that entry is subject to a dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered, and sandals, hats, or sunglasses are not permitted inside.

Flash photography is prohibited inside all monuments.

Large bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the Complex. Please remember that there are no cloakrooms at the site.

Ramps available at the Cathedral, Baptistery, Museum, and Santa Reparata.

Dome and Bell Tower are not wheelchair accessible and are not recommended for visitors with limited mobility, heart, or back issues.

Certified guide dogs are allowed in all accessible areas.

The Dome has 463 steps, and Giotto’s Bell Tower has 414, no elevators are available.

Children under the age of 7 are not allowed to climb the Dome or the Bell Tower. Those between the ages of 7-14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Dome and Bell Tower entries are self-guided.

Baptistery’s mosaic vaults are under restoration and not visible; it closes at 2pm on the first Sunday of each month.

The Opera del Duomo Museum is closed on the first Tuesday of every month.
