It is very informative and amazing to put together the history that people have almost forgotten. The highlight for me was how the security helped us. After 1 1/2 hours of moving around, I noticed that my husband does not have his bag. He just remembered that he may have forgotten it in one of the security entries. Thank God, he returned with the bag, with all our passports and cards. He said that when the lady managing the scanner saw the bag that was left, she handed it over immediately to the security.

The GEM met my expectations in several aspects. 1. A modern construction with all facilities like air condition, toilets, cafés. 2.A wide range of expositions and a clear way to proceed. 3. Especially clever is the idea of the Tutanhamun sector displaying all aspects of life around the death mask vitrine. 4. The idea of the big staircase with numerous statues is particularly appealing as one can blend into the climate of those times. My best mark 10/10.

My experience at the museum was truly wonderful. What stood out the most were the spacious areas that allowed visitors to move around comfortably and enjoy the exhibits at their own pace. Without a doubt, the museum holds immense value with its magnificent artifacts, all beautifully displayed to highlight their historical significance. What a fantastic museum... having a skip the queue tickets was definitely a good idea as the museum is very popular and very crowded. My only disappointment was that the museum doesn't have a formal catalogue/ book to compliment its amazing exhibits. Hopefully one is being compiled and I'll keep an eye out online .

Additional information

To participate in the Discovery Challenge, participants must have a smartphone to play. Children under 12 years need to be accompanied by a guest above 16 years.

The Discovery Challenge takes place daily at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm, with an additional slot on Saturdays and Wednesdays at 6pm. The starting point is at the information desk in the Grand Hall.

Regular hours (except Saturday and Wednesday): The GEM Complex is open from 8:30am to 7pm, Galleries from 9am to 6pm, with last entry at 5pm.

Saturday and Wednesday: The GEM Complex operates from 8:30am to 10pm, Galleries from 9am to 9pm, with last entry at 8pm.
