The enormity of Chambord is resplendent and the life there at the time of Francois I well documented. Amboise is delightful due to the attention to details, the views, the frames for taking your picture with the castle in the background. Clos Lucé with the installations of Leonardo's inventions in the garden is fantastic. A half day at each site is a good plan.

Since I was little, I've dreamed of visiting this castle, and today I finally got to see it. Amboise has always been one of the places I wanted to see; all these castles make the country so special. I hope that everyone can visit this beautiful castle and experience the magic it transmits, especially when there is a treasure hunt to do with the tablet, making the experience super fun, And it's interactive; it teaches so many things.

Visite de trois châteaux de légende. Situés à quelques kilomètres l'un de l'autre, ils sont chargés d'histoires royales et sont incontournables. D'abord Amboise et le Clos Lucé, où François 1er et Léonard de Vinci ont fortement marqué ces lieux, puis bien sûr le plus imposant, Chambord, réalisé à la demande de François 1er et magnifié ensuite par Louis XIV pour lui donner l'aspect actuel. Quelques photos marquantes: le sommet du donjon du château de Chambord, la première automoblie conçue par Léonard de Vinci et la crèche Napolitaine dans la chapelle du château d'Amboise dans laquelle ont peut voir la tombe de cet inventeur de génie.

Bonjour, le chateau est bien entretenu et les jardins sont superbes. Nous saluons l'effort sur les décorations automnales et sur le sympathique feu de cheminée. Mais ce qui a fait le sel de notre visite, c'est la guide conférencière : elle a été pédagogique, concrète et précise, elle a rendu le chateau concret et presque habité. Merci à elle et à l'équipe du château. Cordialement

Well marked displays in a logical fashion. Not too busy. The tickets included the use of the Histopad, which enhanced the overall experience. Cute town as well. Loved it!

A Histopad or informational booklet is included with your ticket at no extra cost.

A HistoPad disinfection cabinet (automatic sterilization system using ultraviolet germicidal rays) is used for each tablet.

You will receive your Royal Castle of Amboise Priority Entrance voucher shortly via email. On the day of your experience, please show your voucher on your mobile phone, along with a valid photo ID, at the entrance of the castle.

Getting There

By Car:

It is about 2 hours and 15 minutes drive from the center of Paris to Amboise.

By Train:

It is a 2.5- to 3-hour journey to travel by train from Paris to the Royal Castle of Amboise. Please note that it is a 17-minute walk from the train station (Gare d’Amboise) to the castle.
