I loved that we were able to.stay at a motel that had so many choices of swimming pools and 2 restaurants attached all for a fantastic price. The water front in cairns has so much to offer for the whole family and we went to the aquarium on our last day there and it was a fantastic experience. I plan on going back next year I didn't realise the far north Queensland had so much to offer!

Purchasing tickets online is good as you skip the queque as it takes time to process each customer as staff deliver the sales pitch. The lectures were very good staff very knowledgable. Best part was walking through the glass tunnel as stingrays swam overhead.

Amazing day and highly recommend the turtle hospital tour!! All proceeds go to helping the turtle hospital operate!!! Was a bug highlight of our far North Queensland holiday ❤️ Tommy the turtle was extremely photogenic and loved his lettuce!

Great displays and information on the creatures you were viewing .Flow through displays was easy to follow.Fantastic experience with sharks ,rays and other fish swimming over the top of you .Fabulous day

It had so many more animals than we expected and our kids loved it. Especially all the little tunnels and the huge underwater section where the sharks swam overtop

Getting started

Head to the main entrance and show your mobile or printed ticket. Staff will scan your ticket and provide the day’s presentation schedule. Lockers are available for a small fee. The aquarium is fully accessible, with ramps, elevators, and facilities for strollers and wheelchairs.

This is the only aquarium in the world exclusively dedicated to the species and habitats of tropical North Queensland.

What's not allowed

Pets, outside food and drink, taking photos for commercial use without permission, flash photography, and smoking in non-designated areas.

Accessibility

The venue is fully wheelchair and stroller-accessible. Ramps and elevators are available. Guide dogs are welcome.

No onsite parking; 3-hour free street parking available nearby.

Rental lockers are available for a small fee.

A souvenir shop is located inside the aquarium.

Children under 3 years of age are admitted free.

Children aged 14 years and under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over.
