The castle was positioned to watch regional routes and protect the Ajloun iron-mining area. Its stepped, narrow interior makes shoes with grip a better choice than sandals.

Went with my partner and honestly, this was SOOO worth dragging ourselves outta bed early. Our driver, Rami, was super chill and told us all these stories about local life on the drive. Umm Qais is wild beautiful—like, I didn’t expect that many wildflowers in April. Jerash totally stole the show, though, it’s just EPIC when you walk through the old gates. Ajloun Castle had views for days. Pro tip: wear sneakers and bring snacks, you’ll be walking a lot! Would def recommend if you want a full, long day seeing real Jordan.

We did the tour as a family of 4 (2 kids, 8 & 10). Our driver, Khaled, was really patient with the kids’ questions, lol. Jerash was a hit with the boys because of all the columns and the chariot track. Umm Qais was peaceful but a bit windy—bring a jacket! Lunch stop was tasty but took a while, so we felt rushed at Ajloun. Still, the castle was super cool. Lost a star for the wait time at lunch, but overall, would go again.

Booked for me and my mom. Our guide, Hani, was a LEGEND—funny and super informative. Umm Qais had these insane views of the valley and you can see Syria in the distance (kinda wild). Jerash was packed with tour groups but still, walking on those old stones felt special. Ajloun was smaller than I thought but the drive up is beautiful. Take cash for tips and snacks, and wear sunscreen! We both loved it.

Can’t believe how much we fit into one day! Went with two friends and honestly, the ride between sites was just as pretty as the places themselves. Stopped for tea with our driver at a little roadside place (ask for mint tea, so good). Jerash is the real star—if you’re into ruins, you’ll geek out. Umm Qais was quiet and felt like a hidden gem. Only thing: Ajloun had lots of stairs, so maybe not great if you have mobility issues. Otherwise, FAB experience.

Solo traveler here! Was a bit nervous but my driver, Samer, made me feel safe the whole way. He even helped me haggle for a guide at Umm Qais (don’t be shy to do this, totally normal). Weather was perfect, sunny but not hot. Jerash was the highlight for me—so much history and you can just wander at your own pace. Ajloun Castle got crowded after lunch, so maybe go there first if you can. 10/10 would recommend for solo folks.
