Getting started

Arrive at the World of Discoveries reception desk, where your ticket will be scanned and validated on the scheduled day. Children must be accompanied by an adult before entering the experience.

Housed in a vast riverside warehouse inspired by Portugal’s shipyards, World of Discoveries blends dramatic staging, soundscapes, and full-scale sets to recreate the spirit of the Age of Exploration.

Immersive exhibition spaces: Walk through large-scale, theatrical exhibition rooms where full-size sets, projections, and soundscapes recreate ports, ships, and newly discovered lands.

Stories of real explorers: Follow the journeys of explorers like Vasco da Gama and Magellan through narrative-driven installations that explain why these voyages mattered, not just where they went.

Themed boat journey: Board a moving boat and sail through recreated continents and cultures, with sound, visuals, and audio narration bringing Portugal’s discoveries to life in 22 minutes.
