Head out to the primitive church of Sant Joan Mercat, built in the suburb of La Botella. After a destructive fire in 1592, this church was almost entirely reconstructed through the 17th and 18th centuries. The main highlight remaining from the old Gothic structure is the nave and large blinded oculus (known as "la O de Sant Joan"). The church is presided by the sculpture of the Virgen del Rosario that is towered by the clock tower. The interior of the temple screams of intriguing baroque imagination, embellished with Bertesi statues all around. The set of frescoes executed by Antonio Palomino in the vault is another sight you cannot miss.
