Situated proudly on the Ile de la Cite, this intimate chapel, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was consecrated on April 26, 1248. Commissioned by King Louis IX to house his collection of religious relics, including Christ’s Crown of Thorns, this Gothic chapel is renowned for its 15 stunning stained glass windows. These windows depict 1,113 scenes from the Old and New Testaments, with one panel prominently featuring King Louis overseeing the relocation of the Relics to Paris. The chapel's stained glass windows are among the most remarkable in the world. They depict scenes from the Bible, including the Old Testament, the Passion of Christ, and the Book of Revelation.
Orangerie Museum
The Orangerie Museum hosts a collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. While Monet's grand Water Lilies steal the show, there's much more to explore.
