The musical was excellent. Only marred by the drunk middle-aged ladies in front of us who seemed to think it was a rock concert and were annoying everyone around them but yelling and waiving their arms through the entire show preventing others from both seeing and hearing the event. We were hoping that the staff at the venue may have done something to shut down this behaviour.

I’ve seen many live shows, but MJ The Musical in Brisbane was on another level. Absolutely electrifying from beginning to end. The energy, choreography, vocals, live band, lighting — every single detail was world class. The performer playing Michael Jackson didn’t just imitate him… he captured his spirit, charisma and magic so perfectly that at times it genuinely felt like watching the King of Pop himself on stage. The iconic dance moves were flawless, especially Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal — the entire audience was completely mesmerised. What impressed me most was how emotional and powerful the storytelling was. It wasn’t just a concert of MJ hits; it showed the genius, pressure, passion and humanity behind one of the greatest entertainers of all time. The transitions, costumes and stage production were spectacular and incredibly polished. I laughed, cried, danced in my seat and left the theatre completely blown away. This is honestly one of the best live performances I have ever seen in my life. Brisbane is so lucky to host a production of this calibre. If you’re even thinking about seeing MJ The Musical — do it. A truly unforgettable experience and worth every second. Standing ovation from the entire crowd, and absolutely deserved

Walking into MJ The Musical, I expected great music and dancing — but I didn’t expect to walk out genuinely moved. The energy from the opening scene was electric, and every performance captured not just Michael Jackson’s iconic talent, but the pressure, perfectionism and humanity behind the legend. The choreography was absolutely world class. There were moments where the audience erupted mid-scene because it honestly felt like Michael himself was on stage. Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal and Thriller were obvious highlights, but it was the quieter moments that really surprised me and gave the whole show heart. The live band, lighting and stage production were incredible, but the performers carried the show with so much passion and precision that you completely lose yourself in it. You could feel the entire theatre connected through nostalgia, excitement and admiration. Even if you’re not a huge musical fan, this show is something special. It’s not just a tribute concert — it’s a powerful reminder of the impact Michael Jackson had on music, performance and pop culture around the world. One of the best live productions I’ve ever seen.

Watching MJ the Musical at Queensland Performing Arts Centre was an absolutely magical experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere inside the theatre was electric, with the audience completely immersed in the journey from the early Jackson 5 days through to MJ stepping out on his own and becoming the global superstar the world remembers. Every performance was outstanding — the music, vocals and choreography were delivered with incredible energy, passion and precision. What made the night truly special was how the show brought back so many wonderful memories through Michael Jackson’s timeless music and legacy. You could feel the entire audience reminiscing, singing along internally, and being swept up in the emotion and excitement of each iconic moment. An unforgettable production that captures not only the brilliance of Michael Jackson as an entertainer, but also the magic he left behind through his music. A must-see show at QPAC.

This was magnificent from the opening line to the final curtain call. The energy, of every performer, attention to detail in the intricate set and lighting designs, tight dance routines, outstanding costumes and spectacular live music made it difficult to highlight just one outstanding feature that went into the creation of this musical. I appreciated the storyline that tied the songs together , it was both believable but respected the intelligence of the audience. The Thriller performance will reman with me as a lasting memory, when a single beat was dropped like no other, closely followed by black and white, when everyone could finally celebrate the incredible talent that was Michael Jackson by singing and dancing in the aisles.

This was the second time we saw the MJ the Musical. We enjoyed it so much that when the show advertised an extension to the season, we immediately bought tickets. Our first show we were in the second row but the next show were were five rows back. Didn't matter as I don't think there is a bad seat in that theatre, it is laid out so well. You always wonder if a second performance will be as good as the first, but surprize, surprize, it was even better. I cannot believe how talented the performers are. From the lead who plays Michael down to one of the dance cast, they are all fantastic and so professional. I can say with confidence, it is the best show we have ever seen, and I have seen them all. Thank you.

I grew up with Michael Jackson--he was only a few years older than I am, but I learned more about him in this musical. It was sympathetic to him and his life, yet still realistic. It showed his brilliance and how that talent made working with him a challenge. The dancing, singing, and special effects were very well done. I was especially impressed with the different actors they had portraying MJ from childhood through adulthood. It's a very talented cast and everyone in my group enjoyed the experience. We were forbidden from taking photos during the show.

Fabulous show. The first half was a little slow however the second half was great Ilario Grant who took the main part of MJ was simply superb. He made the show. Overall such a wonderful experience. Having said that all in the show were good.
