Mein Besuch im Louvre Abu Dhabi war eine echte Überraschung. Das Gebäude selbst wirkt schon beim Ankommen beeindruckend. Die große Kuppel und das Lichtspiel darunter haben etwas sehr Beruhigendes. Innen findet man eine Mischung aus bekannten Kunstwerken und spannenden Stücken aus verschiedenen Kulturen, gut erklärt und angenehm präsentiert. Was mir besonders gefallen hat: Man hat genug Platz, um alles in Ruhe anzuschauen, ohne sich gedrängt zu fühlen. Der Außenbereich am Wasser ist ebenfalls wunderschön und perfekt, um kurz durchzuatmen. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam, was den Besuch unkompliziert gemacht hat. Insgesamt ein Ort, den man in Abu Dhabi auf jeden Fall mitnehmen sollte und das nicht nur für Kunstliebhaber, sondern für jeden, der besondere Orte mag. 😌

Visiting the Louvre Abu Dhabi was an unforgettable revelation! From the very first steps under its dazzling dome, I felt a sense of awe — as if I had entered another dimension where history and art breathe together. The mini cart from the car park to the building was great. Our driver even gave us a tour round so we could see the other buildings around. The whole museum is awesome. So we'll set out and items displayed to show them at their best. My one comment would be that labels explaining what items were were at ground level ( I understand not to distract from the item ) but hard to read at eye level.

What to bring

The galleries are set at a relatively cool temperature to protect the installations. You might want to consider carrying a stole/scarf, especially for kids.

It is recommended to carry swimming clothes and a towel for the kayak tour.

What's not allowed

Flash photography is not allowed in some areas with sensitive exhibits.

Food and water are strictly prohibited inside the galleries.

For security purposes, backpacks and luggage are not allowed inside the museum. You can deposit your belongings in the cloakroom provided.

Children under 6 years old are restricted from taking part in the kayaking tour.

The kayak tour is not suitable for children under 6, people with mobility impairments, and pregnant women.
